  1. 1) What time is a good time to call NVC? when there is more chance of them receiving our App from USCIS and assigning case#

I heard they close midnight (EST).

I called during 12 noon (MST)yesterday and the waiting period was about 5 min and today i called around 11am(MST) waiting time about 2 min.

My NOA2 is last week 3/1 so this Thurs would be exactly 1 week since.

I have also seen NVC get case in 5 days but no NVC Case# etc... i think total wait to get NVC case# is about 2 weeks?

    2) What to say when talking to operator? Just tell them I'm calling for NVC case# or my case has been received?

if i say this won't they then just repeat the 15 days waiting period w/o doing any lookup on mycase, hmmm correct?

Call 'em up everyday. They'll continue to tell you to call 'em in two weeks, but ignore that and keep calling. Once you have the case number and IIN, you get your spouse to mail out the DS-3032 and alongside, you pay the AOS fee. Once they've received the DS-3032 and the IV fee bill is generated, you pay that up and only on receipt of that do you send out the AOS as well as IV packages.

  2. PART 5. Sponsor's household size

    c) if you are currently married, I entered "1" No. Don't count her on this line again as she is already listed as the principal immigrant. These forms are used by people in different situations. That's why it is confusing. The instructions say ''do not count anyone twice.'' The number would be 0 for this line.

Hmmmm this part is bit confusing as it states to not count anyone twice but later it says "if you are currently married, I entered 1"

  3. I was wondering the same thing when i filed over 6 months ago. I filed for K3 and recently got both i-129f and i-130 approved and headed to NVC.

at NVC, they will close the i-129F and continue with i-130.

So it is CR1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K3 no longer !!!!!! maybe on VERY VERY VERY RARE circumstances which i haven't even seen here on VJ !

After reading all the posts, I am still confused about K3 vs. CR1. In my case, I got married 3 weeks ago and was planning to file for K3 visa for my wife. I am a U.S. citizen. This is my second marriage. My first marriage was via the K1 pathway, which ended in divorce (after one year of marriage). Marriage ended before she would have gotten the permanent green card. Given my circumstances, is CR1 still a better option for us than K3? Will CR1 allow my wife to arrive in U.S. more quickly than K3?

  4. I was! but finally got the NOA2!

Email your local Congressman and explain the situation !

My husband and I have been apart for 7 months, I-130 received Sept 14, still no NOA2 and my husband is growing very impatient. We have our lives on hold until we proceed with this process...there are days I'm not sure we are going to make it thru this ordeal, especially with USCIS being so far behind. Anyone out there dealing with the same situation?

  5. Hi Saylin,

Just want to double check that DS-3032 must be sent from the Beneficiary's email account, correct?

if so then maybe it's a good idea to edit or add that in the FAQ....hmmm

What do I do after my case number is assigned?

Get the IIN from an operator (ask for the 'Invoice Identification Number', not IIN). Give over the email addresses of the beneficiary and petitioner. Email the DS-3032 following the template linked above.

When can I email the DS-3032?

Right after you get your case number. There's a chance it could get rejected (because they got to your email before they're ready to take documents), but if that's the case, just re-send it. On the flip side, there's also a chance it could get accepted and you wouldn't have wasted any time.

Note: if doing online forms (check link above for eligibility), then fill out the DS-261 found online at the above link. Do NOT send the DS-3032.

I got an email from NVC that contains a bar-coded DS-3032 (along with other information). Do I re-send the DS-3032?

NO. Do NOT email another DS-3032. NVC automatically generates these emails and do not care if you've already sent in a DS-3032 or not; they include a DS-3032 anyways. Only if NVC responds to your first DS-3032 with a rejection do you send another one.

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Summary of NVC process:

    - get case number and IIN, give email addresses over

    - email the DS-3032

    - pay the AOS bill, once it's invoiced

    - once the bill appears as PAID, mail the AOS package

    - pay the IV bill, once it's invoiced

    - once the bill appears as PAID, mail the IV package

    - respond to any checklists, if applicable

    - get case complete

    - get interview date scheduled

  6. I have the same problem and it appears there is nothing to be done about it.

Is there any use to the website besides just checking on the status of I-129F or I-130?

If that is the only use for it then, no need for account, because you can check status by Case or Receipt # alone by Clicking on "Check My Case Status" link on the left.

  7. Me too ! 6 months & still waiting.....

    I'm 8/24/2011 :ranting::protest::ranting::protest:

    Greetings,

We received NOA on August 21st. I keep checking the case status online, but our I-130 is still pending. Today is February 27th (so, its been more than 6 months already!). I am little bit worried. What are my options? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I am a US citizen, filed for my Russian wife. She went to Russia to sell her condo and now waiting there for her visa...
