    I have to confess something....
I am an american. I am white. I knew what kind of man I wanted. I did not waste my time in the asian or american or ireland countries.
I began my search for a man and I knew I wanted him to be Muslim. I knew I wanted him to be from the Middle East and preferably Egypt.
Does that make me a bad person? I did not petition for anyone else. After speaking with my husband for 6 months I knew I did not want to be without him. Not even for a night. I loved his voice, his accent, his mannerisms, his control, his strength, his dependability, his devotedness.
So what is the difference between me the american and Farid the Moroccan?
If I was in Egypt and I decided I was attracted most to the american accent and american men and I only looked for them....
I do not see the difference.
I have also thought I was in love years before and I was wrong-I just did not have a petition involved.
So, if you are atracted to a certain culture then there is nothing wrong with searching that country for your love.

There's a distinction between what any lay person thinks about people's preferences and what a CO at the consulate in Morocco thinks about a Moroccan man's preference for American women. That's Tany's point, and that's what Farid is so irked about. The CO/Consulate doesn't believe him; the CO seems to think his preference is not an innocent one, but one motivated more in getting to the USA than any preference for American women. Noone's beating him up for his "preference", just pointing out the likely viewpoint of the CO, and the difficulty of being his second go-round at the consulate with an American woman petitioner.
It would be beneficial for Lisa to come onto the forum to get feedback about what she can do from her end if she wants to continue on with the process. He can't do anything from his position.

I do not wish or think ill of her. And i hope she will get married to someone else (being honest with them). At this point i don't care much if she keeps a GC or not, i just don't want to do anything with her.

Smart man...I really wish you the best

California legal reasons for annulment can be found here http://www.courts.ca.gov/1037.htm If that doesn't work seek a divorce.
From your story I don't see much of a case for fraud but that is only my opinion which you neither asked for nor have to agree with. Seems like this sort of thing would be quite common in this type of relationship. Why would either partner be very free with intimate details of their life with someone who is in a position to back out of the deal. That might bring shame on the rejected party and bring down the wrath of the family. Now she has confirmed her fear; she came clean and is getting the boot. Granted it was late in the game.

@ zzzlpr~ your quote...Bottom line, my advice is that based on what the OP posted there is no base to claim fraud, and divorce is not a switch where you turn off, then turn on to marry again. So, I suggest him to put himself on her shoes and think what you would have done.
Maybe it would be more appropriate in this case to put himself in her pants...She created this with her own choices then with her mistakes screwed up his ideals for marriage and future wife.
With a switch of turning off and on a marriage... I agree...but why should OP do anymore to make a marriage out of deception? To change a liar? To placate unstable actions of threatening suicide? To shake the rest of the her honesties out of her?
He has his answers of what he should do...No one on VJ can alter this but it is still interesting to see the varied opinions.

Worst-case scenario lying manipulator! The first stuff was bad enough, but this is over the top. Lying in order to manipulate you into marrying her is not excusable but extortion by threat of suicide is someone you need to get away from right now unless you want this for the rest of your life.
Classic symptom of being held hostage by an emotional blackmail artist/lying manipulator: keeping you terrified of telling them what they don't want to hear. You also have a conscience, which is what she is abusing to keep you. She on the other hand has no conscience whatsoever: lying to your face and emotional blackmail with suicide threats... this is a five-alarm threat level ten hunter-killer manipulator unit. This is what the rest of your life will be like if you stay with this person.
You can't prove fraud with this much to the USCIS. But you can extricate yourself, so read on your local state court what the procedure is for disollution or no-fault divorce.
With a manipulative person like this you do not discuss the matter. You tell them your decision, and that's the end of it. Be kind, but separate yourself from her

No! You don't fall deeply in love with someone and then marry 2 days later! Especially if you are in the middle of an affair that involved a pregnancy and abortion! Even the Kardashian clan would probably acknowledge this! And being that this was an 'arranged' marriage, she was lying from the very beginning! She was a LIAR, is a LIAR, and probably always will be a LIAR! Marriage requires a very deep level of trust. She has violated that in a very fundamental way! Get out now! Don't worry about whether she gets sent back or not. Just take care of yourself and get away from this woman!

We don't share a religion, either.
    I'm the older one.
Oh, and not only does he parent my children from before, he deals with the ####### from their father. Those who say it's none of his business are delusional. Anything that affects one of us (especially that much) affects both of us to some extent.
Maybe the odds aren't the greatest, but it IS possible for a MENA man to fall in love with an American woman who is older and be a wonderful husband to her.
And TRUST ME, he FAR outshines the American man (around my age) who I married the first time. In every way.

Olami, Everything is in God's time and plan. Nothing can stop anything He wants for you if it is His plan. My question was why would people be allowed to apply for immigrant visas if they would be denied solely for the reasons I listed. Together forever gave a great list that makes sense to me and if the CO's go by this list they would never deny someone based on the list I gave alone.
I no longer have stress or any problem myself over this process because I know that whatever is meant to be will be if it is Blessed by God.
I just want others who are starting this process to be able to keep hope that they will be treated fairly and not denied simply for the reasons I listed.
Life is Great when God is in control. Leaving for Turkey tomorrow to see my wonderful husband again.

Katheryn your first warning came before I posted, while i was writing...sorry for this
I honestly did not know I could not voice my opinion that I dont believe the OP is real.
There was no malice in my post towards her at all or judgement. If you read what I wrote..I was not judging her, I was questioning the big holes in her story by the time frame she wrote in her own words. Never did I say anything about her personally.
In fact I conveyed my honest feelings that if it is true I hope she gets the help she needs. I remain this way
Also if all the posts must stick to only constructive advice then maybe mine did not fall under this rule.
