According to your timeline your approval date was January 26, 2017. You need to calculate it by using the date on your green card, not the interview date. Just want to make sure that you don't send it in too early or it will be rejected.

Maybe someone else will give their opinion, but I would probably just send it like it is and not even mention anything about it. 

When does your green card expire?  Are you sure that you will be in the 90 day window next week?

I agree it should include the full days, but the denials I have seen make me doubt myself sometimes. haha

When you fill out the N400 application online it automatically calculates the number of days according to the dates you enter. It doesn't count the first day and the last day that you enter in the count for the number of days you were outside the US.

I do stress currently a lot here, times are changing, the process is changing, and what may have gotten by without question before for one or a handful of people isn't really an option for most now.

Yes, I agree that sending a statement for every quarter is not a bad idea. I just think every single statement is overkill, but of course each person's experience is different and what works for one might not work for another.

I don't understand why you would recommend sending every statement since opening an account. I know things change and it all depends on who adjudicates your case, but when we applied for my husband, I sent 2-3 statements of each type (only 2 statements for most of the accounts) and we had no RFEs and no interview. Sending a statement from when your spouse was first put on the account and a recent one with them still listed as well as a couple from the time in between shows that you have mingled your finances. In my opinion, every statement is definitely overkill. It's better to work on having more accounts/documents with both names rather than sending every single statement for only a few accounts.

Personally I wouldn't stress about sending pictures or even chats unless you want to. I do agree though that you should send tax documents for the last 2 years showing that you filed jointly. As far as bank statements go, I sent a printout that showed when my husband was added to the account and 2 other statements. In my opinion the more things that you both have your names on the better, but obviously you can't send what you don't have. Sending all your bank statements is definitely not necessary. Do you have any children together? Do you have any credit cards with both of your names on the account? Do you have any car titles with both of your names on them? My list was similar to yours when we filed (although we had a few more joint accounts) and we were approved with no RFE and no interview. Good luck!

They don't necessarily seem to go to the closest passport agency. I recently applied for a couple of passports for my children. We live in Indiana and they are coming from Arizona. I don't know if all passports are processed there or not. They do seem to be moving pretty quickly right now. We should get them in just a little over 2 weeks from when we submitted them.

My husband became a citizen on Tuesday!

Just an FYI - for any other documents that need to be sent back and forth, DHL is a good option. It's not exactly cheap, but definitely much cheaper than a plane ticket.

If it's easier for you, my husband was able to find several free apps that he used for studying the questions. They would ask a question then pause a little to give you time to think of the answer.

In my experience they don't necessarily require you to even have started the job yet when you send in your paperwork. When we filed for AOS for my husband, I had a job I was planning to start in a couple of weeks. I got a letter from HR stating that it was not a temporary job and how much I was going to make per hour and how many hours I was scheduled to work per week. I also included a cover letter explaining that the tax transcripts that I sent didn't meet the requirement because I had been in college, but I had since graduated and was planning to start a new job and make approximately xxx per year. 

If you absolutely can't find anyone as a co-sponsor, it would definitely be worth a try to get a letter from his employer and submit the new info. Personally, I wouldn't send all the paystubs, just a sample. Maybe 1 or 2 from when he first started then 1 or 2 recent ones and 1 or 2 from in between.

Congratulations! On the oath letter, where in Indy will the ceremony take place for him?

At the same place as the interview. Is that where your oath ceremony will be as well?

I've always done my own passport photos for years. I mean CVS, Walgreens are great if you want to blow 10-12 bucks. It isn't rocket science, the 10 dollar an hour employees are not Professional photographers by a long shot, and I have never had a photo refused in at least 20 years, and I am far, far from a professional photographer. A little common sense and your good. If you managed to fill out the I129F or any other immigration form by yourself you are more than capable of following instructions.

 

 

I also have used epassportphoto.com many times and have never had an issue. They have instructions right on the site with the requirements and also example photos. Once you take your picture, you just upload it and use their tool to resize it. Very simple and so much cheaper than anywhere else.

My husband had his interview on Friday, July 13th. He was called in for the interview about 30 minutes after he was scheduled and his interview took about 40 minutes. One of the questions that the IO asked was the birthdates of our children. He went over his work history and were we live. My husband applied based on marriage even though he has had his green card for 6 1/2 years (he was out of the US for 7 months at one point in the last 5 years so we thought it would be easier if we don't need to prove that he maintained his residence during that time). The IO said that he needed residence and work info for the last 5 years and he would mail a paper out that we would then need to fill out and send back in before they could make a decision on his case. On Monday, July 16, I checked on his case here https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/  and it showed that he had been placed inline for his oath ceremony. Tuesday morning, we received the notification to check his online account and it had updated there that he was approved. On Thursday, July 19, when I checked his case status it showed that he was scheduled for his oath ceremony. This morning, we received a notification for his online account at 6:15 a.m. and by 9:00 a.m. his oath ceremony notice was already loaded in the account. We are excited to be almost finished with our visa journey! Also, it seems that USCIS is updating the estimated time for the field offices. When we submitted our application, Indy was showing 5-15 months and it is now showing 4-15 months, which is right inline with the amount of time that our case is taking.

My husband received the notification at 6:00 a.m. The interview letter was actually dated for the day before. The letter was uploaded by noon the same day we got the notification. 

My husband's interview is set for July 13th!

What do the processing times mean?

We now show case processing times as a range. The first number is the time it takes to complete 50% of cases (the median). The second number is the time it takes to complete 93% of cases.

For non-pilot forms, we will continue to use our old method to calculate processing times, but will add an upper limit that is generally 130% of the processing time.

We calculate processing times by using historical data of completed cases. We cannot project how long it will take to complete a case filed today.

 

 

 

 

It's not looking too good for us folks in NYC, our wait time is 10.5 -17.5 months.

And I'm looking at all the month to month filers, folks filing dated back till Dec 18 are still waiting for their interview to be scheduled today.

So I'm expecting mine to come around Sep/Oct..

 

I had not seen that explanation before. Thanks for posting that. In looking at the few people from Indy who have posted on VJ, it seems like many of them had their cases completed within 6 months or just a little over, but of course that is a very small representation of all the cases that go through Indy, and each case is different.
