When I first got my GC I came to the US for 1 month, then traveled back for 5.5 months. Where I worked abroad, as my company where processing internal transfer to the US branch. But I had to report to Dubai office during that time.
So do you think I can start counting from before that period where I worked outside of the US, or I have to skip this period?
The issue in the N400 form it asks for the home address and work address. So if the work address is abroad. What would be the case?

You can start counting the time from the date on your green card, but the 5 1/2 months won't count as time in the US. As long as you have not had other extended travels outside of the US, it shouldn't be a problem. When applying for naturalization under the 3 year rule, you need to have at least 18 months of presence in the US.

From what I have seen, the online completion dates aren't correct. Also, you would probably get a better response if you started a new thread with your question rather than posting on an old thread.

I'm basing this "assumption"/"wild guess" from tracking dates on previous N-400 monthly threads. For example, one puts 03/01/18 as in-line date, and then an interview was done 04/03/18. Something like that.
I'm wondering about this because I have travel planned for September, and I'm torn between applying for a visitor visa on my current passport (and delaying my naturalization process a little more) or just wait for naturalization to be completed.
I've had pretty good luck with USCIS. I did all the paperwork on my own ever since CR-1, RoC, and now Naturalization. Never got RFEs. Even got CR-1 expedited. But then again, this might be that one time a blip occurs!
It doesn't look like there are many stats completed on VJ for the Albuquerque office. Of the few that were completed, it looks like you have a fairly good chance of waiting less than 6 months for completion. One of the filers at Albuquerque even had theirs completed in 3 months. It does make it hard to know how to plan for upcoming trips since you don't know for sure where you will be in the naturalization process by that time.
As far as the email with just your name, it seems like this is something that gets sent once you complete biometrics and it doesn't have any bearing on how soon you are scheduled for an interview.

it seems like there is a bug going on and i was just wondering if everyones status says the same. FEB and MARCh peoples status say their interviews have been scheduled.

My husband's status (on the old site) shows that his interview has been scheduled even though he only did biometrics yesterday. When I check the new site, it shows that they have received biometrics and are reviewing his case.

My husband did his biometrics as scheduled yesterday. Last night his case went from 12 months to completion to 10 months, but now today it's showing 11 months. It also says "USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment." Is it common for them to post the wrong thing? I have a hard time believing that they have really scheduled his interview this quickly after biometrics.

Normally you will be fine as long as your trip is less than 6 months. The reason for this is that you should be spending at least 6 months out of every year in the US.

As long as the sponsor makes enough money, they don't care whose name is on the affidavit of support. When we did the initial K-1, my dad was a co-sponsor since I was in college. By the time we filed for AOS, I had a new job lined up so we didn't need to use my dad as a co-sponsor.

My husband is scheduled for biometrics and his status says nothing about an interview.

When I go directly to the page without following the link it brings the page up. Mine says "Your benefit request has been accepted and is under review."

We filed for ROC September 2013 and were approved January 2014 with no interview. We also didn't have an interview for AOS. I know there were other K-1s that applied for ROC around the same time that we did who didn't have an interview.
When did you do your K-1? I know I've seen you on this forum for years, but your timeline isn't filled out.

If you look at the timelines for those who have already went through the Orlando office, usually biometrics are scheduled for about 1 month after you submit your application.

Honestly, I feel like that's something they need to figure out themselves whether than can afford the fees and everything or not. The point of my question was to find out about the feasibility of AOS, not to get financial advice.

I am asking for a friend...
My friend (USC) got married here in the states to her fiance who was currently on a visitor's visa. They then moved to the husband's country and lived there. My friend is now pregnant and was having problems with the pregnancy so they came back to the US almost 1 month ago since the healthcare in the country they were living in is not very good. The pregnancy is now more stable, but they would like to keep following the doctor here and deliver the baby here in the US instead of in the other country. Is there any chance that the non-USC could apply for AOS since they didn't have the intention of staying when they came to the US?

When I applied for AOS for my husband, I had recently graduated from college and had a job lined up (along with a starting date), but I had not actually started working yet. I sent a letter from my employer stating what my per hour rate was and that it wasn't a temporary position. I also included a statement from me explaining that I had been in college and that's why my tax returns for the last 3 years didn't show enough income, but that I had a job lined up, etc. We were approved without RFE. Of course, your experience may vary, but it worked for us.

I also don't know specifically about the Brussels embassy, but usually it takes a little time to get the paperwork through NVC and the interview scheduled. Also, once you have the visa it is valid for 6 months, so you do still have some time even if you don't delay the interview. Good luck as you go through the rest of the process!

Sometimes it can take a little while to update your account. Once it has updated in your account, you should see a tab that says Documents. Click on it, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and there is a button that says upload documents.
Hopefully that means we'll get the notice for my husband before too long. Our office shows 5.5 to 14.5 months.
