Hi all,

I am looking for some extra advice with regards to our unusual profile.

My interview is planned for the 22nd may In London.

We got DQ on 15th March and got the case review note:

image.png.6c8685fcfa3d420d6e502782336bb9b4.png

probably because my husband works for a uk company (all online) and earns . He did add a note to the NVC mentioning we will be uploading proof of continuing employment as he became an exclusive contractor for that company as of 1st April and he now works in the usa for the same company as a contractor and also, for more income per year (his income is fixed per year). He also now has his own LLC company in the usa. We have uploaded these proofs on the nvc portal after we got DQ anyway and I will show the originals at the interview.

After reading all the precious advice on this forum, and after receiving the message on the nvc, we decided to add an updated affidavit of support with the current updated income, accepted offer letter showing continuous employment and also our liquid assets which comfortably meet the minimum required for our household of 2 (1 account in the uk and 1 in the usa).

Both of us work over the internet and I understand this can be unusual. I will also continue my employment in the usa. I work online; I have multiple clients. I am not bound to a contract like my husband but because I m online based, I can basically work from anywhere in the world, which is a real blessing.

Because this is quite an unusual situation, I am wondering if we should add anything else for the interview? We don t want to add a joint sponsor as we believe it is not necessary.

Just for some background story. We have been married for 13 years (14 in June!). I am a French national and he is American.

Thank you for reading :)

Travel to the US while waiting for Green Card

Hi - I have a valid ESTA and travelled to the US from the UK last summer for a 4 week holiday, whilst in the early stages of the IR1 application. At that time we were told travel was fine providing we had proof of UK residence - i.e. mortgage statement. This year we are planning on the same trip in June but are at the DQ stage and waiting for Interview appointment at the London Embassy. Does anyone know if I can still travel on my ESTA if we cannot get an appointment before we are planning on going? All the information I have seen suggests that I do not travel until everything is all approved.

Thanks in advance

Hello fellow VJ members! I was here 15 years ago starting my journey and currently in Oregon. My GC expired 2022, and understand the rule of 6 months prior to expiration, to renew. I have had a legal pickle which disabled me from doing so. I need to visit family in London for a few months. My question is will my expired GC be forgiven upon gaining entry into the US? I have spoke with my attorney but he didn t mention about this part. I have had conflicting information so I would appreciate any advice that could be given. Thank you for reading!

E-2 marrying a US Citizen

Hi there! I am a British Citizen who has been living in California for two years on an E-2 visa (I work for a company whose headquarters are in the UK and therefore they could sponsor me to move to the US). My fiance is also British but is a US Citizen as he has lived here since he was a teenager and went through naturalization to get citizenship. We are planning to get married in the next few months and then start the Green Card process. I have been doing a lot of research into which forms we need to submit. From my research, it looks like: I-130, I-130A followed by I-485, I-765, I-131. After today's research, I am now wondering if I also need to submit form I-508 as I am currently on the E-2. Would anyone be able to advise? I-508 is free to submit, so I am also wondering if I'm unsure whether to include it in my immigration package "just in case".

Hey all,

My fiance and I submitted our AOS package last week, and they received it on Thursday (the 28th). When should I expect to hear back with the NOA? His K1 visa expires on April 20th, and I am just a nervous nelly.
