Hi All.

Had my interview yesterday and was approved. Was told to wait afterwards to copy long form birth certificate as I uploaded the short form certificate accidentally online. Since I imagine they have that copy of the long form certificate and the message on ceac was sent before I left the building with all my documents I imagine everything is fine? Just wanting to check though. How long roughly does it take from the interview to then have the status changed to approved/issued. Hoping they have it all under control and I don't have to upload anything on my end. Thank you!

London K1 Divorce Proof

Hello there!

My fiance and I just got our NOA2 on 06/10 so we are working diligently to get everything prepared so that once interview time is here we are ready to go. My concern is the divorce proof for his (the UK fiance) divorce.

I know that the UK provides very different documentation than they do here in the States when it comes to the final divorce decrees. I was able to get an additional certified copy of my own divorce decree for his interview, but I am slightly worried about them asking for something similar from him at the NVC and interview stage. He has said they can request a UK notary of the document or an apostille stamp but I know there is a cost involved and looking to minimize any expenses as we are obviously looking at an already costly immigration process.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Old threads I saw were in regards to RFEs at the USCIS stage but we are past that now. He has an inquiry to the embassy as well, but was hoping for some VJ guidance in the interim.

Thanks all!

Emergency Travel from US to UK

Hello everyone!

Just thought I'd ask this question on here since I can't find any answers elsewhere. I am currently married to a US citizen and living in the US, I am submitting my adjustment of status documents this week. My father that lives in the UK with the rest of my family has unfortunately suddenly passed away. As his next of kin, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with putting in the i-131 for a funeral or anything similar. I would like to put in 2 weeks to make sure everything is settled and I can attend the funeral. I will have to put in the i-131 a week or so after the rest of the i-485 documents as my visa runs out on the 1st July and we are still waiting for the post-mortem before we can finalize a date for the funeral. Is traveling on a i-131 for the funeral going to affect my application for adjustment of status or will I be able to reliably leave the US for the funeral and return without any problems? Many thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

Advice wanted: Divorced - Updated USCIS of address change late - intending to become a Citizen 2025

Hi everyone.

I received an absolutely huge amount of help from many of you here when I was going through this process at the beginning of Covid, unfortunately however, our marriage did not work out.

We split amicably and got divorced. Admittedly there was a delay in changing my address with USCIS (Over a year) however I have since taken care of that and updated my address. I am on a 10-year Green card.

Is there anything else I should do, need to do?

I do plan to stay in the US and become a Citizen. I assume there will be some extra scrutiny during the interviews etc.

Regards, Matt

Hi everyone! I'm new here, so please point me in the right direction if this has been discussed already.

My husband (US citizen) is self-employed and needs to go back to the US to be closer to his clients. I'm a UK citizen. Does anyone here have experience using DCF for exceptional circumstances without a letter from an employer? Can he write his own letter? Any advice gratefully received!
