Hello - This one is quite complicated so bear with me on it. My wife (US citizen) and I (U.K. citizen) submitted an I-130 in January 2025 from the U.K. but as of December 2025 have moved to Australia as a stopgap between moving to the states. We anticipate the I-130 to be approved at some point between March and May 2025 but as we all know, nothing is certain. We both have jobs in Australia, leased accommodation and a visa that expires December 2026. For the NVC stage, I understand that we could move this to the Sydney embassy but it may be quicker for us to get approved through London instead - I anticipate the interview could be as early as July 2025. My mother-in-law will be a joint sponsor and my wife has maintained her tax records, bank accounts, voting and other ties to the states. Questions: - Am I still able to do the NVC stage via the London embassy? I believe I am still classed as a resident in the U.K. but I do not have a U.K. address (but I do have access to my parents home).
- If I were to travel from Australia to the UK for the NVC stage, my wife would prefer to go to the US at this point, would this be possible?
- Has anyone done this before, where they're a temporary resident in another country and traveled back to the country of application submission?
- The address where I applied for the I-130 is no longer where I or any family members live, do I need to inform the USCIS of this? I know I should change the address but I am reluctant to do this without the advice of this forum.
Any sort of clarity would be helpful.

Hello! My child (16) and I have our GC interviews next week with our US citizen spouse/stepdad. Just received a "courtesy" email saying we should upload additional evidence prior to the interview, then stating examples under the headings of I-130 and I-485. Our I-130s are already approved as we did not file concurrently, our I-485s were filed after approval. Do we need to upload additional/updated evidence if we're already approved? It's been almost two years since we filed the I-130, it was approved end of April, and we've been married for 2 years. Under I-485, it asks for immigration documents, we provided all of those with our application, so I assume there is nothing to add here? The other thing it asks for is police records and that doesn't apply either.

Good Morning I finally after 5 years got my I-797C letter scheduled my interview in December in Detroit. Back in August this year my husband filed for divorce. I have an immigration attorney who will he attending the interview with me. Honestly I am so scared. I need some advice and a run through of anyone's stories/suggestions and what questions I can be expected to be asked. Also a list of things for me to bring. Not completley familiar with working my way around this website so I am looking for some guidance in the right direction. Much appreciated and please be kind. Thank you.

Hello wonderful forum friends, me again. I'm hoping someone can help as my timeline is getting narrower and I'm starting to panic!! So I'm in the US, I'm here on my K1, I'm married to my wonderful husband. I've sent my i485 (work permit and travel permit) in. Here are my dates for clarity. Entered the US 15 Sept 25 Married 10 Oct 25 Posted forms received at PO box for USCIS 11 Nov 25. My question is how long roughly does it take to receive the NOA1 for the I485 as my K1 expires on 13th December!!! I also included the form with my phone number and email address so they can notify me electronically that they have received my paperwork. But to date as of 23 November I've heard nothing. Further to this I had no clue I had an A number so left all my forms blank of it. Then I saw it on our I129F approval ( well I think it is as it's a number with an A at the front above my name - but it doesn't actually state what it is and it was on the notice that was posted to my husband so I had never actually physically seen this piece of paper before) I only saw after is posted the forms!! Please help, I'm concerned I'm going to have to go back to the UK. My husband and I have been working really hard on setting up our lives together here. I feel very anxious. Thank you Lesley
