My i-485 has updated today to "ready to be scheduled for interview". I presume that's the national centre saying that paperwork is good and now it's a waiting game for availability to come up at my local centre (Albany, NY)? I'd love to hear from others who have had their interview scheduled to know how long they waited. AND if they got their EAD / AP in the mean time (I'm excited by this update but would love to be able to work). Also, my husband has a new job and we're set to move in a month's time.... if we register a change of address (different state), will that delay things? is it legal to not inform USCIS? Potentially, we could travel to our current local office. Thanks!

Hi folks, I'm temporarily, unavoidably, going to be out of my home/filing state for a few months, and it's possible my biometrics appointment might arrive during that time. My US spouse will still be at home so will be opening mail. My question is, do I need to notify USCIS about this address change, even though it's temporary? The rate things are moving it seems like that wouldn't make much sense. Also, does anyone have any experience of rescheduling biometric appointment dates or locations? I see the process on the USCIS website involves mailing a copy, with no guarantee of approval, so I'm curious if anyone's had any success. I also see from some much older posts (2016 or something) that previously people suggested going to the nearest field office as soon as you get your appointment notice, but I expect that's not possible now ("just walk in!" they say). I imagine a lot of people will say it's all-around just less hassle it to fly back for an appointment, but wanted to check! Thanks all.

Hi, I'm new to VJ but have been lurking for a few days now We just feel so lost and overwhelmed by the visa spouse visa process. My fiance is a dual US and British citizen and has been actively looking for jobs in the States, things seem to be progressing well and he already has an interview lined up for next month! We are due to get married in May so are trying to get our ducks in a row to submit the I-130 form. However, with the way things are progressing with my fiance on the job front, would it be wise to wait until he has received a firm job offer before petitioning so that we can expediate the process, or should we just begin as soon as we get our marriage certificate? Would there be a way to request an expediated application after we have started the process and he then gets an offer? Also, because my fiance currently resides in the UK how would we go about submitting the I-130 from the UK? Of course we do not have a US address yet, but he does have family that live out that and who we will be staying with until we get on our feet. So could we use his uncle's address? Any advice on where and how to begin this process or even words of encourgement, there just seems like SO much to do - its so overwhelming.

I went for my greencard interview 4 days ago in Dallas field office, in my opinion, I think it went well. We were asked about our relationship and confirmation of the questions on the forms we filled. We submitted a lot of evidence and mere thinking about it, it was enough. The officer was good but she said she would have to look at our documents and see if she would approve us or call us back for another interview. I don't know what that really means but its been days now and I dont see anything on my status change. I don't know why I am so worried. I need help. When I asked her how long it would take for us to hear from them, she replied 2 to 4 weeks. I don't know if anyone has gone through something like this.. Please help ''t
