Hi Guys, I had my interview yesterday at the London US embassy. Everything went fine, majority of the documents all good and the interview, until when it came to my birth certificate. Previously I had ordered 2 original birth certificates (1 using a standard service which took really long, so I ordered another 1 but with a priority service). I uploaded one on the CEAC portal. The one I took to the embassy, was not the one I had uploaded...it was the other one! My heart literally sank because I knew what the problem was. The application reference number on my birth certificate did not match regardless of it coming from a certified source. Because the application reference number did not match...they refused the visa and they just told me that all I need to do is upload this on CEAC (The one I had presented to them at the interview). Has anyone been in this silly situation before and how long will it take? FYI, they still have my passport. Regards, F

Hi all, I have a quick question. In filling in the i-485, they ask the question "Have you ever been arrested, cited, charged, or detained for any reason by any law enforcement official(including but not limited to any U.S. immigration official or any official of the U.S armed forces or U.S. Coast Guard)?" I was running for a train in New York in 2018, and ran through an open turnstile without swiping my Metrocard. An officer stopped me and took my details, I got a fine which I paid the following day, and the officer said as long as I paid the fine on time it wouldn't go on my record. However, would this count as being detained by law enforcement? Thanks!

Hi there, I started my adjustment of status in 2017 from my O-1. In 2019 they extended the temp status for 18 months, and my current card expires on March 16th. According to my status update at USCIS. They are saying they have been ready to schedule my interview since Oct 8th. I'm getting worried about my current card expiring in a couple of weeks. Would anyone be able to give me some advice on what to do? IS there any action I can take with USCIS or do I just wait? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tinku : As of October 8, 2020, we are ready to schedule your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Hi, Sorry if these are obvious questions but i'm a little lost with all the bans, revoking of bans, closed embassies etc so i was wondering if someone could clarify my situation for me. My visa category is Unmarried Son Over 21 of US Citizen. My PD is current and i was DQ'd by the NVC in Sept 2020. So i think i am just waiting for an interview and medical in London to complete the process. So the things i wanted to confirm are: 1) Has the ban for my particular category been lifted now? 2) Are they back scheduling interviews yet in London for my category? 3) I realise that there will be a backlog for the scheduling of the interview but do you think i will get my interview this year at some point? Or is it too early to tell? Any help would be appreciated.

So I was recently approved for the I-129f and now my fianc s and my packet has been sent to the NVC. I have been confused on who the NVC sends the information to that they have completed their processing. Does it go to me, the American, or my fianc in England?
