Sorry if the title doesn't make sense... we are planning on visiting my family in the UK in Dec 2021 for Christmas as my first trip home (April 2020) since moving to US in Oct 2018, was cancelled due to pandemic. I will be staying in the UK a few weeks longer with my 3 month old son to spend time with my family BUT my husband will be flying back home earlier than us due to work. Do we need anything specific to state I am flying back home from the UK to the US with my son on my own? I know you need a notarized letter if I was flying with my son both ways without my husband but this isn't our plan hence why I'm asking for advice! Thanks in advance

Hi everyone, freaking out over here. I had a student visa denied December 2018 because of lack of home ties (214b). I reapplied in Jan 2019 and was denied again for same reason. Fianc and I been together a couple years at this point but was not asked about him during interview , got engaged Oct 2019 and applied K1 Jan 2020, our interview is in London in a few weeks and I have convinced myself we are going to have issues due to my past visa denials, has anyone got any experience with this? Could they bring it up at my interview? No criminal history/past marriages/kids/overstays etc.

I recently applied to a community college in the United States and was accepted, I-20 and acceptance letter came and I have paid the I-901 fee. I am now reconsidering my options and thinking of not going through with the actual visa application itself, however would the I-20 and/or I-901 payment be on any record anywhere accessible to customs officers, thus affecting future holidays to America under ESTA and the VWP?

Hubby (UK citizen) and I just filed our joint tax return, Now we are onto filing the FBAR for him. He has one UK bank account that exceeds the required amount, so he needs to file an FBAR. My question is do I also need to file one myself? I have no foreign bank accounts, but does my marriage mean we share assets? This wording is confusing us on the instructions. "Exceptions: Certain Accounts Jointly Owned by Spouses. The spouse of an individual who files an FBAR is not required to file a separate FBAR if the following conditions are met: (1) all the financial accounts that the non-filing spouse is required to report are jointly owned with the filing spouse; 2) the filing spouse reports the jointly owned accounts on a timely filed FBAR electronically signed; and (3) the filers have completed and signed Form 114a, Record of Authorization to Electronically File FBAR s (maintained with the filers records). Otherwise, both spouses are required to file separate FBARs, and each spouse must report the entire value of the jointly owned accounts. See instructions for specific items, Part III, Items 25-33."

Document update after DQ but before interview? |

Hi all On the 26th February we were DQ! It's moved very fast so far so we're very happy. When we got married, we got three copies of our marriage certificate. Carie took one home with her, and I kept two in the UK. However, last week we realised I had uploaded the scan of my wife's copy of our marriage certificate, since she already had the scan to hand, which had become DQ. The marriage certificates have a clear serial number on them, so when I bring documents to the interview it is clear that it is not the same document! I was wondering what our options are here now? I can think of two options and was wondering what people thought would be best to reduce / negate any possible delays. Option 1: Carie posts me the copy of our marriage certificate she scanned. We still probably have a few months to interviews so I'm not worried about it not getting here in time. However if it gets lost in the post etc or for some reason there is a huge delay this could be problematic. Option 2: I scan and upload one of the copies of my marriage certificate to CEAC and I bring that with me to the interview. I was concerned whether updating documents after we've already been DQ'd might cause a delay or problems? Is this common? Thank you very much and I hope to hear your thoughts on this! Harry
