US Immigration from United Kingdom

Hello All!

I am a British citizen, living and working in the United Kingdom. My wife is an American citizen, living and working in the United States. We filed my CR1 petition on October 29 2020.

I want to contact the embassy for a status update. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best way to get in touch with them?

i had my interview may 4th @ london embassy and was given a 221g form to re upload my birth certificate online.

I did it immediately. My status is showing up refused since my interview. How long does it take for them to check?

they took my passport after the interview. Becoming quite anxious as it has been 10 working days.

I filed an I-130 for my wife directly with the London embassy on April 26 due to exceptional circumstances. Today, I emailed to ask how we d be contacted with next steps.

The response I got was peculiar. Apparently our I-130 was approved the day it was filed, but the beneficiary will not be contacted for at least 12 weeks from the day of approval.

The file is clearly with the consular section in London, since the I-130 was filed there. The London embassy site says that for I-130s that were processed by the USCIS field office in London, they send you the LND case number within 8 weeks of I-130 approval. And for K1 visas, they send the case number within 2 weeks of the file arriving at the embassy.

It seems like the embassy in London is working at a decent pace these days, and the reason we were allowed to file locally is that our case warrants a level of urgency. So the 12 week delay seems unusual to me.

Does anyone have any idea what might be happening or if there s anything I can do to help the process not have a 3 month hiatus, effectively. I know I should be grateful the process has moved this quickly so far, but I d like to do whatever I can do to help it along.

We received our NOA2 today in the mail and it states:

The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate .

No where on the letter states it has been sent to the NVC. I thought that this would be sent straight to NVC before consulate. Unless I m misunderstanding, can someone help?

Hi all

I've just entered into the 90 day period before my 2 year GC expires, and I'm trying to understand if I am able to apply for citizenship now, as opposed to removing conditions on my GC now and then doing citizenship at later time.

I arrived in the USA May 17th 2018, so I will have been here 3 years (K1 visa, married in June 2018) in 5 days time. I'm hoping i can skip over the removal of conditions and go straight to the application for citizenship, but I can't quite work out if this is okay from the guides.
