Hi all! Sorry for any formatting, I'm rather upset right now. I entered the US on the 19th of March with my CR1 visa (got stamped in by my visa as CR1). All is good on that front. I still haven't received my SSN so I rang up yesterday to make an appointment for today - it's after my appointment now from my local SSA Office. Turns out that was absolutely pointless... apparently there's a freeze on Social Security numbers for permanent residents and other similar people at the moment for up to 90 days. There's nothing they can do at present. I have to try and see when I can expect my green card, go back to them, then they can try and expedite it. Currently? Nothing can be done, ridiculous. And they didn't even tell me about this freeze or anything! Is anyone else in the same situation that can give any advice, kind words, or words of support? Thanks, Matthew PS. I'm a British citizen married to my US Spouse (US Citizen)

Hi VJ I couldn't seem to find a thread for April 2025 AOS filers so thought I could start it off. We only sent everything off yesterday (April 7th) evening, so I have no timeline updates to share yet but look forward to doing so. We had hoped for a March filing, but life got the better of us. Better late than never, even if only 10 days from the end of my lawful presence! If you have filed this month and have any questions or info to share, please do-so! On this topic, I'm curious to see how Trump's pause on GC processing will affect us - and anyone who files in subsequent months. I am anticipating a looooooong wait...

Hi all, I'm a little confused about my next steps here so hope you can help. My husband has been living in the US in a shared house with roommates to save $$. Out of necessity, I listed his shared house's address on my DS-260 as my intended US address. However, just two weeks ago we finally found an apartment (just for us - no roommates!) and signed the lease - he moves in tomorrow (exciting!) and I'll be joining him in just a few weeks. Last week, I went to my interview at the London Embassy, which was successful. During the interview, I tried to notify the interviewer of our impending address change. The interviewer said that they do not need to be advised at the interview, but I do need to notify USCIS. Now, I'm stuck. I don't have an USCIS account - it was in my husband's name, as he is my petitioner. USCIS has the wrong address - my husband's current/old address. I know they'll likely double-check which address I'd like my green card sent to at the border, but I don't particularly want to get into trouble for not notifying USCIS sooner. - Do I need to create a separate USCIS account? I don't yet have my visa in-hand so I don't have the A # or case number #.
- Is it OK to just wait until I'm in the USA, then file the AR-11 by post?
- What is the best course of action here?
Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I had my appointment/interview last monday in london. The agent was a lovely man and approved my application after hearing my reason for not returning. At the end of the meeting he gave my passport & expired GC back and said ill get an email with instructions for step 2 with medical etc. When I log into the U.S D.O.S visa appointment account its still says the current status is appointment. I was wondering how long it would be to receive an email or letter for my next steps (ds260/medical) if anyone has been through the process. Is there a way to contact the embassy regarding my appointment ? Thank you
