" All Ukrainian IV, DV, and K cases are urgent"

Is there any insight into the time between submitting the case at NVC and the scheduled interview date in Frankfurt for an IR-1?

Hi,

A petition I filed for my mom got approved, I think. The status was updated to approved on USCIS website. But I am still waiting for the confirmation in the mail.

The issue is that my mom is physically in Ukraine, which now doesn t have a consular office. What should my next step be? I guess it will take time to file NVC forms and pay the fees. But what about the interview and police record/medical appointment ? Our country is bombed so there is no way my mom can do it safely. I hope and pray for peace. I plan to call USCIS since this is a special circumstance but I thought that someone here might have had a similar experience?

thanks in advance

Immigration Help Available to Those Affected by Special Situations, Including the Invasion of Ukraine

Release Date: 03/04/2022

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services reminds the public that we offer immigration services that may help people affected by extreme situations, including the invasion of Ukraine.

The following measures may be available on a case-by-case basis upon request:

  • Changing a nonimmigrant status or extending a nonimmigrant stay for an individual currently in the United States. If you fail to apply for the extension or change before expiration of your authorized period of admission, we may excuse that if the delay was due to extraordinary circumstances beyond your control;
  • Reparole of individuals previously granted parole by USCIS;
  • Expedited processing of advance parole requests;
  • Expedited adjudication of requests for off-campus employment authorization for F-1 students experiencing severe economic hardship;
  • Expedited adjudication of petitions or applications, including employment authorization applications, when appropriate;
  • Consideration of fee waiver requests due to an inability to pay;
  • Flexibility for those who received a Request for Evidence or a Notice of Intent to Deny but were unable to submit evidence or otherwise respond in a timely manner;
  • Flexibility if you were unable to appear for a scheduled interview with USCIS;
  • Expedited replacement of lost or damaged immigration or travel documents issued by USCIS, such as a Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), Employment Authorization Document, or Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record; and
  • Rescheduling a biometric services appointment.

Note: When you request help, please explain how the impact of the extreme situations or unforeseen circumstances, such as the invasion of Ukraine, created a need for the requested relief.

Visit our Special Situations page or call us for more information about how we assist individuals affected by extreme situations and unforeseen circumstances. To learn how to request these measures, call us at 800-375-5283. For people with disabilities: (TTY) 800-767-1833 or (VRS) 877-709-5797.

If Jenny evacuates, what is the most appropriate address for the document?

Can I use my address in the USA for the affidavit of support?

Once she has refugee status, I assume addresses will be very fluid.

Timeline for F2a after USCIS approval

What is the typical timeline for F2a after USCIS approval? The child was approved at 20 yr 5 mon in Mar 2022, I am not sure but it seems like the F2a processing is current.

The petition is now at NVC. The "ceac" website allows me to pay for DS-260 only, not for Affidavit.

It shows this message:

Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time. The National Visa Center (NVC) will retain the petition until an immigrant visa becomes available. The NVC will notify the petitioner, principal applicant, or attorney of record when this petition is eligible for further processing. The principal applicant should not make any firm plans such as disposing of property, giving up jobs, or making travel arrangements at this time.

What does this mean? How do I proceed? How do I make sure she does not age out?
