Good evening all, I wanted to give you all something to remember or maybe practice if you have not completed this yet. I came back on here to check a consulate review and I came upon my now wife's review (with my translation) of her interview at the embassy. I was over the moon as much as a man can be for his fiancee. Something I remember also doing during the I-129F process was going over the letters each of us wrote about how we met each other. It probably meant nothing to USCIS, but it meant a lot to us. I would read both of those letters when I felt like all was lost and they reminded me of what I was patiently waiting for. Even now, I remember how when times are stressful as we all adjust to our life together, it is still the end goal of us being together as a family. So maybe write a letter to your fiancee/fiance about how you met them and the feelings you felt. Men, you will have heart in your sentences but they will be very logical, romantic but logical. Women, the men will read your letter and go "wow, I did not think of all of this." It is just a great reminder. Don't lose hope! Protip: Put this file on your desktop and name it something that will catch your eye when you have one of those rough hours/days/weeks so you can read over it.

Jenny had her interview on Monday. The officer kept her passport and said the "consul would consider and send my documents to me." This seems a little unusual. We asked that her visa be sent to a pickup location. CGI Federal shows that the passport is still with the consulate (Frankfurt for Ukrainian applicant) There is no change to the CEAC site. What type of notification should we expect of the consul's decision. Thanks

We got married and got he marriage certificate. Now we are ready to apply for the SSN for my spouse. Could someone let me know what option I need to select on the SSN form? 2nd or 3rd option from below? I think option 2 but just wanted to make sure if she is allowed to work or not as we have not yet started her Green Card process.

Does anyone have experience of temporarily moving out of the US after getting their green card? My wife has an interview scheduled for the AOS (via K1 visa) soon, and we've debated living in Canada while working remote US jobs. Or maybe even spend most of the year in Canada, with a a few trips to the US. I'm trying to figure out what options are safe vs having the potential to cause issues for returning to the US if decided to live here in the end. https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-820?language=en_US this says a PR can leave as long as it's not for over a year. I take that to say that if we return the to the US every year (most likely 2-4 visits a year), there shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone have experience or advice on if my take on this is accurate, or about other info I may be missing? Thank you.

I scheduled an appointment for my wife and daughter at an embassy approved doctor in Frankfurt a few months ago because of the long wait for appointments. As it turns out, we are getting their exam done in Lithuania for scheduling reasons. I plan to cancel my Frankfurt appointment on June 27th after the Lithuanian one is complete. This will free up two slots in the doctor's schedule. If anyone is interested in these appointments, I'll work with you to see if we can transfer the name on the appointment, or coordinate the cancellation with your booking. First come - first served on this public thread. I will not cancel prior to June 27th because I don't want to risk the Lithuanian one falling through. If Lithuania is an option for you, I would suggest that doctor. He is half the price and very helpful. See another post I made 6/9/2022 about my experience with him.
