Two uscis officers came by our home to ask questions.

How long usually after homevisits can we get answers for our marriage based greencard?

came here with k1 visa, had interview in Feb and now this month homevisit.

Hi Everybody

After a long wait, I finally had my IV interview with the consulate in Sweden. I had all my papers in check, medical examination was good and the interview went quite good, the CO was very nice and we even talked very shortly about other topics.

My question to you on this platform... have you had any experience (as visa beneficiary) were you had a single DUI, no CIMT, happened ages ago and the CO did/told you something like..: that everything was good/fine, kept passport and original documents but said it would take a little longer since he had to "run it" again. I asked him if it was approved and he said, well, consider it "half approved"

This is doing my head in and would like to know if you had similar experiences and if you are now in the USA

our married based interview was in February and still have not heard anything.

We requested congressman to help us.

Have anyone any experience with them and what do they do and can they actually help??

What are the options if I need to leave the country and of course want to come back to my spouse to usa.

I am waiting for my work permit also but I didnt apply the travel thing.

can I apply it now and how long is the wait usually?

Hi! My husband and I are currently living in Sweden, we moved here from USA in 2015 where we lived for about 18 months, during which time he had a CR-1 visa/green card (before that we were living in Asia). I got a job offer in Sweden and we decided to leave the USA in 2015, did not have intent to return and since we were not living there we did not petition to remove the "conditional" status at the 2 year mark so his green card is I suppose "expired". From what I understand this means we start from the beginning.

Long story short, coronavirus has changed a lot of our feelings about living abroad and we want to settle long term in the US near my family. We also have a child together born in Sweden who is an American citizen.

Which route is the best if we are planning to move back (ideally together)? Does a K3 make sense, is it actually faster than the IR1? The last processing times I've looked at for IR1 seems like people are waiting 2-3 years for a visa? It is pretty overwhelming to try and plan that far ahead, or potentially have our family separated for part of that time if I find a job first. Any thoughts? Thanks.
