US Immigration from Russia

My Russian girlfriend has a son who will be 18 in a month. We are worried that once he is 18, he will be drafted. He is a student in a university in Russia, but we fear that he can be taken, regardless of his status.

I've read about the process on different websites, including USCIS.gov. I understand one must be on American soil or a border to request asylum. We're considering the attempt at requesting asylum at the US Mexico border.

Here are my questions.

1. If you were in their situation, what would you do? Would you exit the country now or wait until the draft notice is received and exit the country illegally?
2. How would you go about achieving asylum or refugee status? Present yourself at a US border somewhere? Are there other effective ways?
3. Is there a law firm that you would recommend that could increase the chances of being accepted and/or guide us along the way?

- Completions have grown since Q1 (5,006) and Q2 (6,424)

- Non-fianc /fianc e receipts (I-129 Petition for a nonimmigrant worker) have ballooned (Q1 - 122K, Q2 - 137K, Q3 - 206K) which may further drain USCIS resources

- Overall, nearly all categories of forms have gone up in numbers, led by I-485s (Adjustment of status) forms

Hi, my Russian fianc has her interview appointment scheduled in Warsaw for January 4th.

currently looking to apply for a Schengen visa to Spain so we can enter the EU.

did anybody else applied for a Schengen visa to Spain? Do you recall the name of the visa center or travel agency that was used in Russia to apply for the visa?

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble contacting the US embassy in Armenia and getting an answer on whether they'll accept my fiance's case transfer.

The non-immigrant inquiries email told me to contact immigrant inquiries email despite the k-1 being a non-immigrant visa, and the immigrant inquiries email isn't responding to my emails despite follow ups and calls (which never lead to anything)

Can someone tell me where I report this? Because it seems like they're deliberately beating around the bush.

My fiance has Armenia residency, work permit, and currently lives in Armenia. This should be a guaranteed transfer acceptance, right?
