Hey guys,
I'm going in for a I-751 and N-400 combo next month, and I wanted to have your opinions on my paperwork package. I had a pretty unpleasant interview for the first green card, and after that experience I'm probably more nervous about getting interviewed again than I should be. At the time of my first interview I was in my 3d trimester of pregnancy, and an officer kept asking my husband if he was sure the baby was his. Not a single question about our relationship timeline. I'm sure this interview will be different as our son is 3 yo now but because I don't have an experience of a "normal" relationship-focused interview I'm really nervous.
Here's what I have so far in terms of proof (not including copies of all sorts of IDs). Since my RoC has been pending for almost 2 years my N-400 and I-751 contents for the most part overlap.
- Marriage license
- Birth Certificate of our son
- Divorce Certificate for my previous marriage
Financial:
- Tax return transcripts for 2019-2022 filed jointly
- Joint rent agreements for 4 properties from 2019 to present
- Transaction history over the years for 4 different joint bank accounts, investment and credit included
- 2 joint car loans
- My life insurance stating my husband as a beneficiary
- My husband's life insurance stating me as a beneficiary
Other:
- 2 car registrations with both of our names on it
- Insurance for 2 cars with both of our names on it
- Medical insurance cards for all three of us through my husband's employer
- Apple Family Sharing Plan
- Document that states my husband as a legacy contact to access all my digital data in the event of death with an access key
- Same document that states me as a legacy contact for my husband's digital data
- Amazon Household Plan
- Google-Fi Family Plan
- Netflix Family Account
- Copies of plane tickets from 2 trips we took with our son
- Photos
I don't have utility bills under both of our names because I never thought it was important.
Also, if you could think of any tricky questions they might ask us based on my package, please let me know. When I read topics where someone gets asked about breakfast a day before and what their partner was wearing, I do get nervous because our family life is pretty chaotic and we don't focus on these tiny things. Breakfast is usually on the go while we get ready for work and get our son ready etc. My husband definitely won't remember things like what I was wearing the night before because our brains are in a permanently exhausted state and don't register these things.
