Greetings,

A US citizen who I know filed I-130 for their married son 2 weeks ago. The beneficiary and his family are in the US legally. They came here with a parole under Uniting for Ukraine program. The receipt indicated their classification is 203 a3 which is correct. I just helped them create an account online and found that the system says the processing time is 2 months. The screenshot is attached.

The petitioner has already filed I-130 for their son in 2014 (F2B preference) when she was an LPR. She became a USC in 2018 and the preference changed to F1 automatically. I-130 was approved in 2020. However, the petitioner's son got married before she became a USC. VJ members told me at that time that there was nothing that could be done because the petition was invalid the moment he got married and they had to file a new I-130 and wait for 10+ years.

So, based on what I wrote, how is it possible that the system says the estimated time is 2 months? I know the estimated time is most often incorrect by several months, but it shouldn't be years.

Delay of NOA, documents sent to a wrong office

Greetings to everyone! We submitted documents for my mother's green card who is currently staying with us in the US on her B1/B2 visa for over 4 months. According to USPS tracking they were delivered over 2 weeks ago, but we still have not received a NOA and the check has not been deposited. We reside in Texas and sent the documents to the lockbox in Arizona. Later we found out that there's an address in Dallas, TX where we were supposed to submit the application to.

Can the delay of NOA be related to that and what can we do in this situation?

Filing I-129F Petition - Some questions regarding proofs translations

Hello! Me (Russian) and my partner (US citizen) have been on the process of collecting everything needed for filing the I-129F petition. Since I come from a not English-speaking country, I got confused regarding translations of our proofs. I would be really happy to know your advice or experience on following:

1. Since I've been adopted as a child of 8 y.o. I need to attach the proof of Legal Name Change, am I right? I don't use the surname I had before being adopted, but I listed it in the petition form just in case cause I'm used to do it in this kind of questions when I do paperwork for Russian legal affairs. My certificate of the adoption is in my native language. Should I hire a third party translator to legally translate it into English? I should not translate it myself since I'm not a professional, should I? If so, what are the requirements for the translator to hire?

2. We also need to provide the proof of having met in past two years and ongoing relationships. Since we gathered all proofs in one place, we realized a lot of our proofs have some parts either in Russian (since my fianc travelled to Russia to see me and used my native language in his postcards and stuff) and in Thai (since we both travelled to this country a lot to meet up). Does this mean that we also should hire third party translators to legally translate it all into English? If so, should each and every foreign word be translated? Or only those parts that make the most sense and meaning?

Thank you so much for your help to solve our confusion!
