Hi I would like to file my wife's ITIN application together with our joint tax return. Since my wife has no official identification card with my last name after marriage, I wonder if I should file my tax return and ITIN application with her last name before marriage. I know that marriage certificate is a legal name change document in Texas. But when I visit a certifying acceptance agent (CAA) to verify her identity, the agent may question that my wife's Russian passport has the last that does not match the last name on line 1a in the ITIN application form. The ITAN instructions mention that: "Enter your legal name on line 1a as it appears on your identifying documents. This entry should reflect your name as it ll appear on a U.S. federal tax return. Your ITIN will be established using this name. If you don t use this name on the U.S. federal tax return, the processing of the U.S. federal tax return may be delayed." Should I use her last name on her passport on both ITAN and Federal Tax Forms? or Should I use my last name on both ITAN and Federal Tax Forms? Thank you Alex

The passport photo tool I have seen in other threads on the DOS website has since been taken down. I am trying to resize my passport photos for myself and my husband and can't quite figure out how to get them 2x2. I try to do it in Microsoft word, which sizes them as 2x2, but then when I upload to my USCIS account, they look tiny and not the right size. They are high resolution and fit the criteria but the size is confusing me. How do I make sure they are 2x2? Will they show up that size digitally or only if USCIS prints them? (I realize this may be a dumb question, but I really can't figure it out lol).

We were in the process of scheduling our interview in March 2020 when the pandemic shut down, and April when the embassy closed. We have been stuck since anyone have a clue when the Embassy will open. The only answers we got from them is that they will reach out to people and look at scheduling appointments when they turn the lights back on.

Good morning! I just married my Russian husband in Mexico! We submitted I-129f in July 2020, no NOA2 yet. We are now no longer eligible for the k1 as we are married. We felt this was the best decision for us as a couple. 1. Do I need to send a letter to USCIS withdrawing my i-129f or is it automatically null due to us no longer being eligible? Or will applying for I-130 suffice? Just want to make it easy on the USCIS people. 2. Does my Mexico marriage cert need to be apostilled to send to USCIS? I have the translated Spanish to English version with certified translator info.
