Unusual Supreme Court vote rules illegal immigrant can avoid deportation on technicality

The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled in favor of an illegal immigrant who was facing deportation, stating that they are entitled to discretionary relief because the government did not follow the rules.

Federal law says that an illegal immigrant in such a situation can avoid deportation at the attorney general's discretion if they have been in the U.S. for at least 10 years. The clock officially stops when they receive "a notice to appear" with information about their hearing. But in cases like plaintiff Agusto Niz-Chavez's, the government sent multiple documents containing different pieces of information. The court's majority ruled that because the law says "a" notice, that means it must be a single document.

Does this mean that while waiting for a green card, I can travel on a tourist visa? If not, how does it work at the border? In which document should they put a mark in order to comply with the border crossing requirements to receive a green card? Thank you

Hello. I came to the United States on a K1 visa, got married. I filed Form 765 for a work permit and also went to SSA to get an SSN. I expect the SSN to arrive earlier than the USCIS work permit. Can I start working after I receive an SSN number before I receive a work permit from USCIS?

Hello. Let me ask questions, please. I arrived on a K1 visa, filed form 485.1). What is the next process before naturalization? First, obtaining a green card for a conditional permanent resident, then two years after that, obtaining a green card for a permanent resident, and five years after that, obtaining citizenship? Right? 2). At what point can I request a petition for a child 21 years of age or older to move to the United States, and how long will this process take? 3). At what point can I request a petition to move my mother, and how long will this process take?
