Flying Fiance to the US

Hey Folks,

Hopefully someone has experience with this & can give some guidance or at least shed some light on this in case I am reading this wrong. I was browsing through tickets to fly my fianc from Cebu to Houston, TX. I will likely use EVA Airways as I have used them for my past two trips to visit her. When browsing the prices I noticed that the price for a ticket is significantly more if you are shopping for a one way ticket as opposed to a round trip ticket. What I am considering is purchasing a round trip ticket & then asking for a refund for the return trip. Based on what I am reading, the refund should be for the value of the unused ticket (return trip) minus a "refund fee". Depending on the class of ticket you purchase, the refund fee varies from $50-200. The difference in the one way ticket versus the round trip ticket (if I can get a refund on the unused ticket) is almost double in price...so the $50 "refund fee" would be more than worth it if this works like I think it should. I don't want to assume that I will just get the refunded amount sent back to my credit card...so I figured I would ask here. I've checked their app to look for a FAQ or anything that would verify that things work as I expect it will...but it isn't particularly clear. I wanted to see if anyone else ever used this method or has a better method that I might be able to use.

Thanks!

Kawika

Petitioning my parents but...

Hello,

I recently acquired my citizenship and I wanted to bring my parents here, so I can take care of them. However, I'm having trouble looking at the costs for health coverage for seniors aged 65 and above. I'm currently living in Pennsylvania, and I read some discussions that say that they would not be qualified for Pennie or Medicare. I am trying to look for other health coverage, but I'm only seeing those for 65 and below. Does anyone know any health plan that I can enroll them in?

Thanks

Reschedule oath ceremony

I knew this was going to happen. I told my wife to do the same day oath and we would get a urgent travel passport.

But she took the advice of the interview officer after our combo interview. I wasn't there to interject.

I'm currently at home with a broken leg. I just noticed that USCIS sent a notice through the mail. So I logged into her account and I saw that they scheduled her interview for May 9th.

The USCIS officer I guess didn't schedule the date correctly. Or didn't do as promised. Who knows.

Now I can't reach my wife as she's in middle of nowhere Philippines. I'm not sure how to solve this issue.

Is it possible for her to miss the oath. Then reschedule afterwards?

Thoughts on I-134 FORM

Hey Folks,

I provided my fianc with the I-134 for her upcoming interview (May 4th). When filling it out, since my job salary is more than enough to meet the support requirements for the K1, the only documentation I provided with the I-134 was the offer letter from my employer, the past few months of pay stubs & the last three years of IRS Tax Transcripts. I did not list my home, my car or any of my bank accounts simply because I didn't want to have to go through the trouble of providing all of the documentation to validate those assets. From the videos & guides I had watched and read, what I provided should be more than sufficient for the I-134...however...I keep seeing people talking about including their bank statements & other proof to further validate their financial situations. Has anyone else used just the documentation I provided for this scenario? Looking for some thoughts & input on this. Last thing I want is for her to get turned away because they want to see bank statements or something else as well.

Thanks!

Kawika
