Hello, Let's start from the beginning. My fianc (who is the USC) and I (I am from Norway) filed our K1 visa December 3rd 2020. August 2021 we were approved. December 9th I had to go to the US embassy in Stockholm, Sweden for my interview. Everything was looking, and I had all my papers in order. My criminal record was not clean. I had a fine from January 2007 for admitting to have bought and smoked one user dose of marijuana during a vacation in Spain, December 2006. This was during an interview with the military here in Norway, where they asked me if I had every tried any drugs. I was honest and told them I tried marijuana once. I was 19 and didn't think much of it. They sent my interrogation papers to the police, and I got a fine. It should be said that during my stay in Spain, cannabis is decriminalized and I should not have agreed to that fine in the first place. Again, I did not know this at the time. Also I didn't think it would matter at any point since it was only a fine. When I handed in the papers to the first person at the embassy, he asked me about the fine, I told him what it was, and he couldn't imagine this was going to be a problem. At the interview, the woman who interviewed me asked me about it as well, she kinda laughed at it, carried on and told me everything looked good. They were going to finalize the papers and ship everything back to me. I left a happy man! Hours later they requested my court orders for my fine, which I honestly didn't think exist. I contacted the police station the next day, got the documents I needed, got it translated and emailed it back two days after my interview. My interview took place on a Thursday. Following Tuesday I got an email saying my visa was refused. Now we have to file a I-601 and wait even longer... So for those of you who wonder if a small thing on your record matters, it does...

Hello, I am in the process of getting my P1-A visa. I have earlier been granted a 10 year B1/B2 Visa (2017-2027) and I am a bit nervous. I am going to the US as a athlete, but I do have a criminal record: I did 40 hours of community service for a juvenile offence I did when I was 15/16 years old (2015). Do you think this could impact my visa interview? I have never done anything before that, or after that. Its literally my only crime ever.. I did get granted the B1/B2 without a problem, but would they maybe look deeper now since I am going there for 2 years employment? Cheers

Hi, I was uploading my civil documents yesterday and it asked for a police certificate from Germany (in addition to the one from Norway). I am a Norwegian citizen, currently residing in Norway I do not have a police certificate from Germany. I lived there from the 28th of July 2019 until the 17th of December 2019, for an exchange semester, and from my understanding I do not need one. Is this correct? I wrote that in the comment section and put "document not available". Just double checking this, in case I need to start trying to obtain one. Thank you!

Hi, We just got our NOA2 for the I-130 and I am starting to gather information and documents for the NVC stage. I encountered this question: "Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, or been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?" Long story short, my husband and I got married through Utah virtual ceremony this January. The next week I was trying to fly into the US and I had all the required documents. However, at the airport in Amsterdam, the woman at the gate looked at me and my papers and said they were not valid/legal and said she could not let me on the plane. She picked up the phone and called someone (I do not know who), and then she said she had spoken to someone in the US and that I was not allowed to board the flight. I turned around, hopped on a flight to Aruba, stayed there for 14 days and entered the US without any problems. In May this year, I again tried to fly to the US,, with the same documents and had no issues whatsoever. So I assume I have to click yes on this question on the form. But how do I explain it? Writing "They did not think my marriage certificate was real" seems like a huge red flag. Any input would be highly appreciated!
