US Immigration from Norway

I know this varies a lot, but I was wondering what you guys think or what experiences you have. After you finish the K1 process or at least see the end of it, when would you order tickets to move?

My interview is june 16th. I am looking at one-way tickets for me and the kids in the later part of july and the prices are outrageous. I would wait until mid august, but I really want us to be able to settle in for a while before school starts. But when is it "safe" to order these?

Spending a little extra, I could order tickets that can be changed, but due to the time of year I fear there wont be a lot available, especially for 3 people.

I asked people on a discord, and some people say I should wait until I have the visa in hand but I mean.. that might make this even more expensive. X_X

Also.. anyone have any experience with buying round trip tickets and the second ticket being like... 6-7-8 months later? I guess you just end up with the same problem because you would want to go back. Lol.

I am finally trying to trying to schedule my interview and i have to pay for my visa delivery but then the website says this:

Please note that the passport can only be delivered within Sweden. International deliveries are not possible.

Also: Premium Delivery - You must register your delivery address on our courier partner's platform and pay the delivery fee (297 SEK). The platform can be accessed from this page by selecting the Premium Delivery option.

So I try the latter, but the only thing that seems like I can get delivered in norway is the interview waiver??

This is what it says:

You should only use this service if you have received an Interview Waiver confirmation from your ustraveldocs.com profile or you have been issued a 221(g) letter and instructed by the U.S. Embassy or Consulate to submit additional documentation for further processing.

I am so confused. How do I get the passport back with the visa in it? Do I have to wait in Stockholm?

My husband (a Norwegian citizen) and I (a U.S. citizen) applied for his green card before the pandemic, and it was granted in 2021. Due to job uncertainty during the pandemic, we postponed our move and have been living in Norway ever since. Last year, we had our first child and are planning to travel to the U.S. next month to visit family and friends. We have also travelled to the US since that time and had no problems but given the current situation/news stories regarding greencard holders, I am unsure what to do. Given that he has not lived in the U.S. since obtaining his green card, should he relinquish it and apply for an ESTA instead, or would it be better to keep it in case we decide to move in the future?

Has anyone been in a similar situation that could share some advice?

Hi. Excuse me if I'm not doing this the right way, it's my first time posting something on here. I entered the US on a K1 visa in september 2024, got married in november and filed for my AOS and EAD early December. Yesterday I finally got my EAD approved. I'm interested in continuing my education here and I have been looking into different universities. Do any of you know whether or not I can study while I'm waiting for my I-485 to get approved or do I have to wait until then?

Is this still the right place to post this? Im not sure. Anyway.

I went to the Swedish embassy page to continue the application process, and they had me make an account with them. However, I am confused on two fronts:

1. They made a big deal about my name. I have a norwegian letter in it, so I cant use my actual name. The problem is that in my ftp letter they write it with one A, but in my passport it both says the norwegian letter but at the bottom with a bunch of numbers it is replaced with two As. An is basically two As so that makes sense, but since nvc has my name with an A should I also do that? In the 129f application we wrote it with an A plus in the section where you can add special characters we spelled it correctly. My ESTA however, spells it with two As..

2. I started off with an account and it asks for my country. So I picked Norway, because it isnt asking for where I want my appointment. But then when I managed to sign in it is stuck on Norway so now I dont even know if I can make an appointment? This is very confusing to me. X_X I am assuming this should be Sweden, since that is where I have to interview?

I started off making an account, writing the name like the nvc letter and picking Norway. Then I made another when I realized the mistake. I used a different email, but it might be on file as my second email? Now I cannot log in at all...

Should I make a third account? At that point I might need a new email. What a mess. X_X Luckily I havent put in my passport info or anything yet.
