My husband has a high school equivalent which he translated and certified (by a notary whose native language is also serbo-croatian). We noticed on the language skills that his high school diploma unfortunately does not list his English on the transcript and his grades or documentation showing his skills in English are unavailable. My husband put together instead a very eloquently put written statement about his background in English and his proficiency in it and explained that those materials are not available to us at this time. We plan to have this sworn statement notarized as well. Will this be sufficient?

Hello VJ members, Hope all is with you guys! Need help from folks who have already applied for US passport after Naturalization. My understanding is that we would need to submit Original Naturalization certificate ,DS-11 form, Driving license (photocopy) color passportsize picture along with $110 dollars fees. If we need to know submit original Naturalization certificate, I am afraid they will lost it just like they have lost my I751 greencard and still they could not find it? Also, Why do we need to make photocopies of these supporting document if they have already asked us to bring original copies? How do we have to pay $110 fees through pay check payable to "U.S. Department of State" right? And also would USPS accept passport size picture from lets say CVS/walgreen (if I chose to use their passport size picture services) or I should just stick with USPS passport size picture services? Which one serves better? USPS would charge $35 as passport acceptance fees, does that include passport picture or USPS will charge us extra fees for pictures? Last, how long does it take to get US passport and original Naturalization certificate? Thank you all for help and advise?

I keep hearing rumors around that it is going to take forever to get our NOA1. My husband has a month exactly left on his visa and we are just finishing up a few loose ends with the SSA and waiting on his number and probably are a week or so out from really finishing our stuff. Are AOS NOA 1's having a big back log like I-129F backlogs or are they prioritized? What would we use as proof of a pending AOS application prior to an NOA1?

So my husband and I went today for his social security number application and we re told it was going to be needing to be verified by dhs and that this can take up to four weeks to happen. my question is are we going to run into problems? Because at the worst case scenario mark (four weeks from now) right on the mark of the day of four weeks from now it is going to be 75 days. are we out of luck? the social security lady says she hopes it s sooner but....

So, my husband came into the country at the end of November; we are looking at his Vaccination document and he has DTAP, DT, OPV, MMR vaccines recorded and on Varicella he has natural immunity from having it as a child. However, he has "A'' (Not age appropriate) on blanket waiver section for Rotavirus, Hib, Hep A, Hep B, Meningococcal, and Pneumococcal, and Influenza. He is coming from a K visa. I'm reading the schedule on the CDC website and all the other ones that he has NOT had are in a table that are ''Recommended for adults with additional risk factors or another indication" (Which I am assuming are people that work in the medical field or in community living like dorms for ex.) There are no remarks on his paperwork. I reached out to the embassy and am waiting to hear back. I'm not sure if he is requiring any more vaccines?
