Hi everyone, This may be a long shot but here goes: The Amsterdam consulate is doing medicals after interviews, and, per the consular officer, my visa approval is contingent only on the medical coming through (everything was a-okay). They told me that once they receive the medical they'll send me an e-mail with instructions on how to courier my passport to them. My medical was done and uploaded a while ago, but the consulate is taking it's merry time (as they seem to be with everything) to send out a simple e-mail. Are there any Dutchies who've gone through the same process and can share the courier instructions with me? Thanks, T

I am applying for a Green Card for parent after I became a US citizen recently. On I-130 (online) one question asks for my A-number. Should I fill in my A-number from when I had a Green Card or should I choose "I don't have one"? Not sure if it still pertains after naturalization...

Good day all, Not sure this post belongs in this subforum but I figured it will get moved if it doesn't. My medical exam is in two days (1/11). I already had my visa interview on 1/4, and per the consular officer visa approval is contingent only on succeful completion of the medical exam. I've been very sick with the flu (symptoms started right after the interview when I got home) and only just recovering. I gather all that will remain by the medical exam date is a persistant cough, a very hoarse voice and general fatigue. I've been PCR tested for COVID-19 twice, both negative. According to my GP I'm no longer contagious. I was wondering if my current state will raise any suspicion at the exam as to my medical condition. I'm otherwise completely healthy, but if I show up with barely a voice and tell them I'm completely fine, wouldn't that raise eyebrows? I'm debating postponing it, but the next available appointment date is weeks out, and I have to get back to the U.S. for family reasons ASAP. On the other hand, if the clinic thinks something must be up with me and wants to do further/extensive testing, that could also take awhile I would presume. Thanks for your advice.

Dear people of VJ, I own a 2015 BMW M135i xDrive with about 80k miles on it. It's quite a rare one (3 door, red leather interior, full options, and it was a BMW press vehicle). I absolutely adore it and would love to take it to the U.S. However, given current container prices and potential costs of import etc., I'm wondering if it's even close to worth it. Does anyone here have any experience with taking their car from Europe to the U.S. for immigration? Additionally, anyone taking a considerable amount of household goods by sea freight who can share experiences? Cheers, T

Greetings people of VJ, I have my visa interview at the consulate tomorrow. I received a reminder e-mail from the consulate today that contained the following statement (emphasis mine): "Validity: The visa is valid for one entry during its validity period (6 months, from the date of the medical exam). You can enter the United States any time within the validity of the visa. Do not leave the U.S. until you are granted Legal Permanent Resident Status and have received your Green Card. Failure to follow the above instructions will delay your immigrant visa process." Our lawyer replied as follows: "I ve never seen this. Traditionally, after a person enters the US with an embassy/consular LPR grant, we schedule an info pass to receive a separate stamp in your passport that would confirm your LPR status. Recently, the process has changed. I have a separate case where the client wanted to travel home for Christmas. I argued with three separate Officers who refused the infopass and insisted that my client simply travel on the embassy stamp. You can leave either way but I would still try and secure an infopass and stamp. You shouldn t have any issues. I ve had multiple clients leave this year. I would suggest you make the trip as quick as possible." Our plan was as follows: - Enter U.S. ASAP after receiving visa, take a 4-5 week vacation.
- Travel back to sell house, car, arrange shipping of belongings, end employment, etc. Would be out of the U.S. for about 3-5 months.
- Enter U.S. and permanently move in with my wife.
I was under the impression that advance parole was not required for me for the CR-1 and that I would have no problems leaving and re-entering before issuance of Green Card. Lawyer informed us that it can take up to 12 months to actually receive Green Card and SSN, and it seems that leaving for an extended period of time (under 6 months though) could create issues. Does anyone have any advice on this? Also, anyone any idea what is meant by the infopass and the LPR grant stamp? Lawyer's reply to that question was simply that it's "a USCIS appointment". Cheers, T
