US Immigration from Lebanon

Hello, I am new to this forum and I have a few questions:

- I am in the US and I became a citizen a few months ago, My mom in Beirut and her NVC case is DQ as of March 8th 2024. from what I read here it seems like it might take 6 months for her to get her interview at the consulate in Beirut. My question is can she do the interview in Arabic? she does not speak english, will the embassy provides translators if needed? thanks

Hello all,

I am a legal permanent resident living in the US. My wife lives abroad (Lebanon) and recently (December 2023) got her I-130 approved, so now we are working on the next steps (Affidavit of Support and DS-260). I will be sole sponsor for her as my income in the most recent tax year (2022) is sufficient. In 2023, I worked most of the year as a W2 full time employee until around July, then in November of the same year I began working as a 1099 contractor (self-employed). My questions are as follows:

1. When filling out the Affidavit of Support, in the question related to total income (Part 6, question 24 a, b, and c) should I answer with the "Total income" value as presented in my 1040 forms? Or should I used "Adjusted Gross Income" instead?
2. Can I submit the Affidavit of Support and DS-260 in January as soon as possible without having to wait for the 2023 W2 and 2023 1099 to come out? The reason is I want to submit as soon as possible, and the new tax year might not start before the end of the month. I already provided documentation (Pay stubs, bank statements, employment letters) that prove that I have made more than enough in 2023 to cover sponsoring expenses. I can explain all that in Part 11 of the Affidavit of Support, but I just want to know what is the best course of action here

Asking for someone who is a permanent resident. They filed I-130 for their unmarried son under 21 year old back in August 2023. Their I-130 was approved today. Priority date on the NOA shows the date they filed in August. Their son was 18 back then, now 19.

What happens next? What category does the son fall into? Is it F2A? They are from Lebanon. What is a realistic time frame and is there a way to make things go faster since both parents are here and the child is there alone.

Is there a risk of their son aging out of 21 or does CSPA applies here?

My mother from Lebanon is supposed to join my sister in the US and at the time of the interview when everything was accepted the consular came with a paper requesting DS-5535. I looked it up and I understand what it is, I was wondering why my mother of 67 years old with a not so extensive travel history and with basic social media accounts where she doesnt post anything but just follows her daughters and relatives, was subjected to such a form.
Additionally, does anybody know the timeline expected in this case to process the DS-5535 and get back to us with a decision? What were your experiences with it?
We have emailed BeirutIV@state.gov requesting the form (as instructed in the paper) and we are waiting for them to send it to us (hopefully they would be prompt in sending it) so that we can fill it.
