US Immigration from Italy

Hello everyone,

My wife has her IR-1 visa in hand and we are looking to book her flight to Denver from Sicily. We're a bit confused on the COVID and quarantine procedures. Since she is coming from the Schengen region will she have to stay in another country for 14 days before entering the U.S.? She has two annotations on her visa: "Exception under PP on Novel Coronavirus" and "Exception under PP on Risk to Labor Market." I'm assuming this doesn't allow her to bypass any quarantine rules. For those of you who recently came to the U.S. on an IR-1 visa, were you allowed to enter the U.S. directly? Where from? Were you denied entry? Did you have any problems during your trip because of quarantine procedures (layovers, delays, etc.). Sorry, I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but we are just trying to plan carefully with as few issues as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

Do you need to take physical pictures and scan or is possible to use your phone and a site like https://visafoto.com/?docType=us_visa ?

Do you need bring these pictures during interview as well ?

Just a quick summary of my timeline:
- Filed for AoS early March, got the first NOA in March, long wait before biometric notice, biometrics done on August 4.

Now, on the USCIS website if I check my case status it says "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview . As of August 11, 2020, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status...."

Any idea about the average time to get the notice/appointment since the update on the USCIS website?

I red many posts on this topic, but I ran into contrasting information and I as I just got my AOS application rejected (because I didn't file the i-944 form that is not even required anymore!!), I want to avoid further delays before resubmitting it.

I got married in California this May and I changed my last name to my husband's last name.

So, now I wonder, should I file the AOS application using my "old" last name or the new one? Would the marriage certificate be enough as a proof of that?

The confusion comes from the fact that I know that the GC is a sticker applied on the passport (am I correct?).. And on my passport I have my maiden name, so I wonder wheather the "mismatch" could cause any problem.

I got recently approved by uscis, the case status is just case approved , do they update to sent to dep of state once is really sent to nvc?
How long usually is the wait of receive the welcome letter ?

does any of you used the shortcut to call nvc to receive earlier code for caec?
