IR1/CR1 Filing from Ireland

Background to our case
  • Me (Irish, beneficiary) and DH (USA citizen, Petitioner), married 13 years and living in Ireland since 2008. 2 Kids (both USA citizens).
  • DH has a job offer (due to start mid-June), he is flying out ahead of us to get a rental house, bank accounts, car etc.
  • My case status is DQ'd, at NVC waiting on an interview (hopefully in July).
  • We used a joint sponsor as DH's Irish income did not count.
Questions
Q1: If my DH is living in the USA, and is in employment, is this sufficient to prove Domicile even if he hasn't managed to get a rental house before my interview?
Q2: Our joint sponsor has not filed 2020 taxes and will not file before my interview (due to complicated tax filing of his business type). Will my DH's new US income be sufficient to prove income (and means of supporting me), negating the need for the joint sponsor?
Q3. If no to Q2, can we provide other proof of means, i.e the 3X poverty limit in savings to circumvent the need for the joint sponsorship or are we committed to the joint sponsor approach?

We had to submit the i864a on CEAC after the interview in Dublin, but they kept my husband's passport. On May 12th, the embassy said they received the document. Our status is still showing refused. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for it to change to AP? I know every embassy is different, so Dublin specific help would be great.

Never received my DS3025, what do I do?

Hi everyone, I need your help here!

So a week after I got married, I had most of my AOS completed, however I realised that the hospital in my home country that done my medical couriered off my results to the embassy without giving me a copy of the DS3025 vaccination report. I called and emailed them and eventually they replied that they "don't have a scanned copy" of it and that I'd have to have another medical report done by the doctor.

Feeling VERY frustrated as this was my second medical done by them, and funnily enough they have my first medicals vaccination report but not the second one. So now, I have no idea what to do. Do I have to get another exam in the States, and do I have to submit the AOS with my vaccination report?

I know it's a shot in the dark, but I emailed them back if they could get the doctor to write up a report with my scanned vaccination reports I used for my medical last November. Just left feeling very stressed and unsure what to do here at this point.

NVC Rejecting Birth Cert Translation Previously Accepted

Hi all,

We submitted a PDF compilation of beneficiary's Birth Certificate (original, pg 1), Birth Certificate (translation, pg 2), and note on the back of the translation certifying it (pg 3, below)
image.thumb.png.351174a37cfa62625e88aadddef07b32.png

Note that it's notarized. I don't know how more official you can get than that. I understand that translations can be done without being this official, but we had this sitting around from when spouse attained Irish Naturalization. The translated birth cert is pretty much identical in format to the original save for being in English, and is typed out, not hand written.

NVC accepted this and we were DQ'd in October. After finally receiving our interview date we checked back today to review and found we received a "POST feedback" note, dated the 19th, see below

Where do I go from here (reaching out via "Ask NVC," reuploading the same PDF with a note, something else?), is this their mistake or is the translation inadequate?
I understand that the translation certification is not accompanied by any statement of "I understand both languages," could this be their rationale?

Thanks for reading

N-400 Online. Evidence section asks for 'additional evidence you want to provide'

Hi Guys,

2 questions about filling for citizenship via -N400 online.

1. Right at the end of completing the N-400 is the evidence section. You upload scans of your Green card, Marriage cert, childrens Birth Certs, Tax returns etc. Then there is a section that says 'additional evidence you want to provide'. It isnt clear to me what I upload here. I tried to continue without uploading anything but a warning was advised to me to upload as much as possible to help my case.

Can someone please give me a clear list of when needs to be uploaded here? Thanks!

2. I am filling my N-400 online. Do I need to upload the Form N-400 too? Or that form is only if you mailing in your application.

Thanks,

Irish in Chicago!
