Irish Gov website says US not issuing new green cards?

To begin, I obviously know the Irish government is not the American government. However, it still is my government and where I am emigrating from. The Department of Foreign Affairs website says the follow:

While existing Permanent Resident Cards (often called Green Cards ) remain valid, US authorities are not currently issuing new Green Cards or renewing them. Existing visas remain valid as long as the holder remains within the US. Current visa holders based in the US wishing to travel to Ireland or any other country covered by the Presidential Proclamation are strongly advised to check before they travel as to whether they would need an exception to re-enter the US. The US authorities only consider applications for these once you have left the US, so applying before travel is not possible.

https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/united-states-of-america/

I've just completed my medical and interview for my Spousal Visa but have not been contacted again by the embassy. What does this mean for me? Is there truth to this? Will this delay them in sending the packet? Will it stop me from getting through the airport? I've already visited the US since Covid under the presidential proclamation exception for spouses so surely I can enter with my new residency?

Please help. I'm stressing like crazy over this.

DQ'd for Son & RFE for WIfe grounds for Expedite!?

Hello All,

So we having been going through the CR1/IR1 process to get my wife and son over from Dublin. All documents were submitted to the NVC for my son and wife. However while my sons application received a DQ'd status my wife's application received RFE. (Makes no sense I know as they are the same documents for both but this is the NVC so I'm not surprised)

They had incorrectly requested a W2 form from me even though I have never worked in America or lived in America since childhood until returning now. I was told different actions to remedy the situation but ended up submitting a letter explaining how I cant provide a W2 form as the RFE as instructed.

Do you think this is grounds to get my wifes RFE processing expedited? Our son is only 4 and will be scheduled for an interview soon (we think as going through less busy embassy and I am a US Citizen) they should be processed together as he cant interview by himself.

Hi all

I am in the states starting the AOS process. From what I have seen other people post online is that often they are getting their green card before EAD and AP are sent out. My local office case processing times are around 2-3 YEARS for the I-485. I was thinking then of sending the I-131 and I-765 separately and paying the extra few hundred in the hope that these come through quickly. The AP is the most important one to me at the moment as there are a lot of weddings back home that I am expected to attend next year. Are these two forms always done through the national benefits centre or one of the field offices? The case processing for AP appears much faster.

Also it is highly likely that we will move to my partners home state within the next 18 months halfway across the country. Will it be easy to change address and get the I-485 interview done in the new state?

Many thanks

E xx

Hi everyone,

Been tracking my NVC case number since August 2020. Was documentarily qualified in November 2020. The status has always been 'At NVC'. Today however, it's showing 'Your search did not return any data.'.

Has anyone encountered this before? Getting worried that something's up!

Thanks!

Call for I-751 Interview -- does my spouse need to attend?

I am a Conditional Green Card holder, and I have my I-751interview to remove conditions, on Aug 23.

I filed my petition jointly on May 29, 2019 and remain happily married to my spouse.

The letter I received, under the section titled "Who should come with you?" does not mention my spouse; it just mentions attorneys, interpreters and disability assistance.

The letter only mentions the documents that I should bring: it does not mention my spouse.

My spouse did not receive a letter addressed to her: does she need to attend the interview?

I have tried calling the USCIS Contact Center for clarification, but the automated system is not helpful, and just provides me with canned responses and status updates.

Has anyone, who filed jointly, received a similar letter and attended their I-751 interview on their own?

Thanks in advance!
