Hi all, looking for practical advice from folks who ve fixed small I 130 mistakes after filing.

in the section where it asks Is your current mailing address the same as your physical address? i have answered yes, but me and my spouse both living abroad and the mailing address and physical address are not the same. because i have answered yes to this, my address history is starting from the US mailing address to the latest address. oldest to newest in this order.

and i have left every box that doesn't apply to me empty instead of N/A.

one more thing due to the character limit on i-130A form the apartment address is cropped. like in i-130 it says for example Floor 9, Apartment 43. in the i-130A it says Apt43

also some of the address is cropped in the i-130 as well even though i remember that i have written the full address

i have consulted a lawyer and she was advising to fill out a new i-130 form to fix the mistakes and upload it with an explanation letter in your account.

what do you guys think?

I applied for a K1 Fiance visa form I-129F and got accepted in December 2024, I received my NVC case number today starting with BGH which I'm guessing refers to the U.S.Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, however, I am not sure if they are accepting K1 Visa applicant interviews at the moment. My fiance lives in Iraq and it would be much easier if he gets interviewed in Iraq, but lets say they are not accepting interviews, can I transfer it to a different embassy/consulate in the middle east of my choice? Please if anyone has information about k1 visa applicants in Iraq, let me know. Thank you!

Me and my partner (Iraq/kurdish) have decided to move on to the next step and we are going to be married!

I found out today that I need authenticated / legalized affidavit stating that I am single and available for marriage.

So far I have found out that this involves 4 step process:

1. Notarizing document of single marital status / no record of marriage

2. US department of state authentication

3. DC authentication

4. Iraqi consulate authentication

am I on the right track with this? Do i need to 3 seperate copies of the document and send each of them to US dept. of state, DC, and iraqi consulate?

My husband interviewed on aug 15 2023 in abu dhabi and he had a missing document (original marriage certificate),he had a copy only and at the end of interview the consular told him to fill out by email ds5535 and send and gave him a white paper 211g which i attached . That same day we got an email from embassy with link for ds5535 which we send on same day.But are they suppossed to reply to it or confirm they got it cuz they never did. Then i sent him the original birth certficate thru dhl and he sent through courier to embassy along with that whiteslip but courier service approved by embassy(empost) told him he had to send passport too which they never asked for but he kept insisting and told him he cant accept document without passport .so he sent them with passport .the next week on 25 case was updated but still read refused.yesterday 28th we received through empost from embassy our marriage certificate and white slip that we sent and passport with a new paper that i will attach too saying we are still under Ap and checked on passport

My question is when do they request passport ,after their done with ap or send it back now and if now why did they send it back not keep it.Also anyone with same situation and we let them know through email my husband had to travel back to iraq by 21 but can make different travel arrangements .

is that why they send it?

Hello. My fiance entered on a K1 visa and we are now married and preparing his register for permanent residence. Looking through my timeline I have the I-485, I-765 and I-131 and the supporting documents for each form. Is this all that needs to be sent in? Since an I-864 affadavit of support was done prior to his interview, I do not need to send this form again correct? The I-693 when does this get submitted? Thank you for your help.
