We re still waiting for the embassy in Port-au-Prince to reopen, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about if they ask if our families have met. For context, I m not very close to my family, especially when it comes to personal matters. I meet all the financial requires to bring my fianc here without a co-sponsor, so my family has not been involved in this process. If this question comes up in the interview, the most honest answer I know for my fianc is to respond with is that the people close to me know him and have met him on video several times. I just think every family dynamic is different, and them knowing or not shouldn t be a deciding factor. Also, I tell him about my family and send pictures of them, so he already knows who/how they are without meeting. I feel pretty confident about any other questions, but I m curious if anyone has any insight on this. Thank you!

My wife is waiting for her interview to be scheduled at the embassy in her country of residence. I (the petitioner) am aware that her interview may not be for a long time due to the circumstances of the covid 19 pandemic, civil unrest and crime in her home country, and ultimately backlogs once they do resume interviews. Moreover, my problem is that I want to start a new job as I'm looking to change careers. I'm hesitant to do so because I am wary as to the confusion this may cause for my wife and the consulate officer at the time of the interview. On all of the paperwork from the I-130 to the DS-260 my current profession and job is listed. I'm assuming that ideally drastic lifestyle changes are better to be delayed during the CR1/IR1 process. However, I may be missing out on better employment opportunities financially and for other reasons. Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Is ANYTHING moving through the Baltimore Field Office? Filed in late March and have nothing except the NOA1. No biometrics or anything. Apparently some of the April and May filers have already gotten interviews at different field offices! They usually send us to Pittsburgh for biometrics, and Baltimore for interviews. (We live halfway in between.) Dare I hope that this time they'll do the interview in Pittsburgh? That field office at least has shorter processing times. I know immigration is a waiting game, but we're so close to the end and citizenship will mean tremendously better jobs!
