I am currently 29yrs of age but then I had my LPR status at the age of 7 through the DV lottery. At age 10, my mum brought me to Ghana, but then I didn t visit the US all this while. Going through my documents this morning I just realized my green card expired about 10 years ago. My question here is am I eligible to apply for a returning resident visa or I ll have to start the whole Immigrant visa process again.

Is there a way to ask USCIS to refund our filing fee for removal of conditions?

Background.
My husband and I have been married for over two years before he came to the US. When his greencard was issued, they gave him a two year conditional visa. Immediately we received it, we resubmitted documents online to have them correct the mistake. An info pass was made and he went back for another fingerprint. When the new card was sent, it still had the same expiration date on the card. Fast forward 2years later we filed for removal of condition and payed all the fees. After almost a year of waiting, We just received a letter in the mail that they noticed they made a mistake and my husband should have received a 10year instead of 2 so since there is no condition to remove, they have closed his case. They are advising that we apply for green card replacement and chose error by DHS and attach the letter they sent. So now we have to start the whole process again, which we already did two years ago for them to correct a mistake that we have given them chance to correct two years ago. Now I want to know if they can refund the filing fees since it was their mistake in the first place.
Thanks.

I am so hoping this was a mistake. On July 2nd 2021 I sent an expeditated for my fathers funeral. I received an email just a few min ago that states:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the assigned U.S. Embassy or Consulate General has suspended visa services. We are unable to forward your expedite request to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General for review. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General will resume visa services as soon as possible but cannot provide a specific date.

Please continue working with NVC to prepare your case.

For the most up-to-date information about the U.S. Embassy's or Consulate General s operating status, please visit the Embassy or Consulate website at http://usembassy.gov.

You may wish to resubmit your request once the Embassy or Consulate resumes routine services.

Regards,

National Visa Center

I so hope this is a mistake, suspended again due to Covid? #######, they are in a level 1 advisory and there are no restrictions! Has anyone heard anything about this? I'm on hold with Nvc now... this ####### is just to much!

Needs some Explanation

Hello all,

I applied for CRBA for my child and I was denied it because the officer said I did not demonstrate that I was physically present in the United States for the period of 5 years prior to the birth of my child and at least 2 years of which were after I have reached the age of 14 years.

I immigrated to the US in December 2014 and stayed out of the US for less than 5 months, my child was born in March 2020 which with my calculations I have been in the US for more than 5 years which presented my social security contributions for the period of 5 years and my tax transcripts for 5 years.

So my question is why did they refuse my child of her citizenship. Can someone help me with the explanation

Attached is what they emailed me.
Thank you
