Embassy Review : Hello all, here is our timeline ????

PD: 08/28/23
DQ: 12/17/24
Transferred to Togo: 01/06/25
Transferred to Barbados: 05/19/25
Transferred to South Africa: 06/11/25
IL Received: 06/12/25
Interview Date: 08/07/25

Arrived at 7:00 am and there was a line of about 10 people standing there.

At 7:15 am the security opened the doors and asked us run our belongings through a security scanner and verified that I had an interview appointment by scanning my passport.

Then I was directed to place my documents in a folder, give them back to a CO, and I was also fingerprinted.

Afterwards, I was given a number and told to wait until I was called.

When I was called to Window 8 by a young white guy, I was told to take my oath and more fingerprints.

Before the CO started he complimented the way we arranged our documents. I made a relationship timeline that highlighted all of our important dates throughout our relationship.

Questions asked:
1. What does your wife do for a living? [Answered]
2. Oh! She works for Chevron? [Answered]
3. When and how did you meet? [Answered]
4. Have you seen each other in person?[Answered]
5. Did we have kids together? [Answered]
6. Where is your daughter? [Answered]

Visa Approved! Passport pickup will occur within 2 weeks.
Rating : Very Good

First, Huge Congratulations! Can you explain what Packet 3 and 4 are? We were transferred to SA from another embassy directly. We received Packet 3 email? This was just to register and schedule the visa pickup. Also, it says that we have to schedule our interview which the system is down. We are CR-1 and our initial interview was sent by NVC. I am at a lost, I am hoping you can provide some insight. Thank you and all the best.

Packet 3 is when our case status moved to Ready on the CEAC website. My husband received a prescreening email from the embassy on the same day as his medical exam on July 21st. The prescreening appointment was July 23rd. His interview was August 7th. August 8th his case status moved to Issued and on August 11th the embassy and DHL emailed him to let him know that his passport was ready for pickup at DHL. I think your case was at Zimbabwe and got moved to South Africa right? I’m not really sure how they are handling those cases. I think you should just keep trying different browsers and at different times throughout the day. You may start to see some appointments become available.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
