US Immigration from Germany

This forum has helped me in so many ways and I always loved and cherished the support groups we had. Is there anyone else who is currently filing or has filed a n-600k? I would love to form a group to cheer us on.

Also, is there an idea how long processing times are? We are a military family stationed overseas and planning to stay in Germany. My husband (their stepdad) is a US citizen and I a dual German-US citizen am. The kids have a German citizenship and reside with us.

I have submitted my ROC paperwork in 2019 and the letter that is extending the green card for 18 month is about to expire!!

We are currently stationed in Germany and are due to move back to America right during the time this letter expires.

Does anybody have exprience with this and knows what I need to do to get another extension? In the US you schedule an infopass but unsure how it is in Germany.

When I called USCIS she told me due to me not having a stateside phonenumber there was nothing she can do for me...

We decided to go the n-600k route for my children. And I am very grateful for the support I have received from you all. I have two questions:

1) As I am currently documenting every stay in the US, I am running into problems: For instance, I was an Au-Pair in the 1990s and have the Visa, stamps - but I don t know the exact date I returned to Germany. Also, I have a postgraduate degree from the US and spent two years in Boston. Again, I can see the arrival dates but not the departure ones. How would I document a relative accurate number of days in the US? And would the n-600k filing get rejected if I am not too accurate on the departure dates? I am currently being very conservative and decided to opt for earlier departure dates as to avoid overstating days.

As of today I am approximately 300 days above what I would need to comply to the 5 year physical presence: Do all the days as a visitor, student, LPR count towards the 5 year presence?

We have just filled out the I-130 for my biological children who are residing with us abroad under military orders. But we haven't mailed the petitions yet for some mundane reasons as my printer running out of paper. I am a dual citizen of Germany and the US.

I came across the Children's Citizenship Act of 2000 based on a message I received here. Is it possible that I can file the n-600k for my children instead of the I-130?

In case I am allowed to file the n-600k: It would really depend on what counts towards physical presence in the US: I have several years as a student and au-pair and a few months as a tourist before I received the LPR status. I am also currently on my husbands orders overseas and although the n-600k form does not explicitly state that my time abroad counts towards being physical present in the US, I am assuming it does as it has counted towards my physical presence in my immigrant timeline.

Just in case it matters, both kids are living with us and are also on my husbands military orders. Or would I have to file the I-130 after all? I am very confused.

I wouldn't want to waste the n-600k filing fee only to find out, I should have pursued the I-130 route for my kids. I would very much like to hear what you think?
