Moving around the time of AOS submission |

Hello, We are getting ready to send in our AOS packet, and just so happend to also be moving in June. We just signed the lease which starts June 1st, but have the old apartment through June 30th as well, so there is a month of overlap which opens up a few options. I am a bit concerned about things getting lost when we are moving right when the packet makes it to USCIS, so I wanted to hear what some more experienced folks are thinking what the best course of action might be. I was thinking I'll file using our current address ASAP (before end of May), no mention of the new address yet. Then, in mid to late-June, we would both file an AR-11 change of address with USCIS, me for the pending AOS and she for the I-864. If we don't have a NOA1 by then, we'd have to do it by mail, not online, is that correct? Do you see any issues with this approach? The other option I was considering is to file all the paperwork with the new address already as mailing and physical address - in which case I'd probably hold off until June 1st - except we won't be physically living at the new place for about 2-3 weeks while we move. Also, would we still need to submit an AR-11, or will adding the new address to all the forms be enough for USCIS to register our move? Thank you in advance for any advice!

n-600k experience? |

Dear all, is there anyone with a n-600k experience? My husband is stationed overseas and I am, as are my children from my previous marriage, with him. Background is that we got orders to Germany while we filed the I130 for myself. As the approval for my kids biological father was always going back and forth, we didn t pursue it any further given that he had orders to the same country/ city we (my kids and I) already lived. Now two years later we are facing the same problem again: their Dad doesn t communicate. Given the difficulties I am facing, I was hoping to pursue the n-600k route for my children. However, I am the military spouse (dependent) with a US citizenship. If, and only if, the days on overseas orders count as days in the US, I could petition their N-600k. I know this is a slim chance, but does anyone know a military spouse (not the service member) who was able to file the n-600k AND include the days on overseas orders as physical presence? I do have an immigration lawyer who is currently researching this exact question but I was wondering if anyone in this forum has been going through the same?

Hello all, I am wondering if anyone has recently filed for advanced parole (AP) I-131 and an employment authorization document (EAD) I-765 combo card. From my understanding it is filed with the Chicago office and the most up to date information I can find is documents that were filed in October last year. I am trying to figure out the most current processing times for these documents. The reason I am asking is we are trying to have a wedding in the home country of Germany, but unsure if the advanced parole document will be returned in time. It would be a disaster to cancel the wedding last minute when people have purchased plane tickets. Appreciate any input, Thanks.

What is a 'modified medical examination'? |

Hi there, I did my medical last year in January and had my embassy appointment scheduled for March in Frankfurt for a K1 visa. That was cancelled but I hope things will resume soon. Regarding an expired medical, the checklist states the following: Quote [...] The medical examination is valid for six months! If these tests expire on or before your interview, you must undergo a modified examination to update your results. [...] Now, because the embassy has not responded yet, I wonder what a "modified examination" would mean? Does anyone know more about this?
