My husband tends to threaten me with divorce when he feels not heard. This is clearly a marital problem. This morning, however, he called me and sounded more serious than usual and as our state requires a one hear separation time, he conveniently thinks we can just "pretend" we were living separate for a year. Our state allows to live in the same house and deem it as separate. He did, however, move out June 1st because he got transferred. I did not fully realize, he was not just moving but moving on. We just went through the LPR/citizenship process with my kids last year. If he retroactively changes the separation time to October although we were clearly still living together (I have pictures, messages, finances etc), can he seriously threaten me with my children's LPR/citizenship status? My children got their LPR status based on our pending change of duty station (move back to the US). They naturalized automatically (I am a US-Citizen, as well) upon being admitted. My husband started having second thoughts about our marriage a few weeks ago and moved to a new (job) location in June. However, if he changes the dates all the way back to October ,I wonder if this would cause a situation with USCIS or the State Department sometimes later. I have suggested counselling, therapy etc but in the end of the day the two of us need to work on the marriage not just one. I just don't want to have issues with USCIS or the State Department later for accepting a shorter separation time. I honestly don't even see why he is rushing now but it would help me to hear your take on this. I am struggling to think straight right now. Sorry.

Hey, we submitted all required documents on the 22nd of July. And yes, everything is correctly submitted, all the required documents etc. We haven't heard anything at all. I don't know what to do at this point because the NVC website shows that they are working on cases that have been received on the 4th of August. I see people already being DQ or at least get an RFE August 10th. We haven't hear anything at all. Does anyone know what we can do right now? I already sent an inquiry 9 days ago but it takes them two month to answer. Is there a possibility that they just forgot our case??? Would it be an option to send an expedite request? Even though when its not getting expedited but at least they see that our case is overdue ? Thanks so much Sabrina

Hi, I have found a few similar posts about this topic but they were about 10 years old and I did not get a real answer! I'm currently in DCF for a CR1 visa. Before we started the visa process we planned a trip to the US to celebrate our weddig there with the people which could'nt be here for our weddig in the beginn of 2022. I think that my visa will be done before we will leave for the trip. We were planning on beeing in the US for 2 weeks, comming back to Germany for 3-4 Weeks then move to the US. I'm guessing that my GC won't arrive within the 2 weeks we're there... Am I able to leave the country (without the GC) and come back 4 weeks later without ruining the process? Thanks in advance!

I was DQ in September 15th and got an email on September 30th saying that my appointment had been cancelled although I never had one to begin with. After a little bit of digging in seemed like a lot of people waiting for appointments in Frankfurt received this email. Today I suddenly received an email again saying The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in FRANKFURT, GER approved your request for expedited processing of your immigrant visa application. The National Visa Center sent your immigrant visa application to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in FRANKFURT, GER for their action. The Embassy/Consulate General will contact you soon to schedule a visa interview. But I never put in an expedite request. Is this just a normal email that everyone gets? Did anyone else receive an email like this waiting for an appointment in Frankfurt?

I recently went for my medical exam and while most of the medical exam was covered by the main panel physician, I had to go to another medical practice (In cooperation with this physician) to get my x-rays done. They handed me the bill and a red envelope to take to the border when immigrating into the US. I am not allowed to open this envelope. When they handed me the bill in a seperate envelope I didn't check it until I got home since I already paid it. When I got home I realized that they spelled my last name wrong on the bill. I'm now worried that my last name is also misspelled on the x-ray documents I'm supposed to take to the border and I'm wondering if that would be a problem? It's just one letter. They put an A where there should be an E. Am I stressing too much or should I try to call them to fix it?
