Uploading Multi-page Documents - NVC Stage

For the NVC stage, I was wondering if we can combine the translated police certificate document with its original in one PDF document, or if we should upload the translated document separately and the original separately?

Also for the proof of domicile, I wrote a letter that lists the steps I have taken to maintain my US domicile and included supporting documents for this. Is it okay to upload all of these supporting documents in the same PDF file under the proof of domicile letter or should I separate each supporting document on the list and upload each separately? I read about others getting RFE's for combining some of their financial documents, so I am wondering if this applies to the other documents that I have mentioned here?

CR1 or K1 ... and I-130 Question Beneficiary's Entry Info

Hi all,

I have a theoretical question regarding CR1 Process and K1 Process, and regarding CR1 the I-130, Question 45 following.

Theoretical Question regarding foreign national currently living abroad and thinking about future with US citizen, living in the US:

I heard the K1 visa takes quite a while until you get employment authorization etc. afterwards. The CR1 however takes also a while, but once you enter the US, you can work etc. right away.

To my knowledge it is possible to use a visa waiver like ESTA, to go to the US and get married. I know it is not recommended to just stay in the US and file for adjustment of status.

What if you travel to US to get married to an US citizen, on visa waiver, leave the country to go back to your country/job/etc, but file I-130 together before leaving?

Would you answer Form I-130 questions 46 following with "class of admission" "WT" and just copy the info from the I-94? Technically, you entered the country under visa waiver, got married, and would not overstay but return to your country.

Is this acceptable or are there any concerns with this, as it seems to be the most efficient way if both parties want to keep working etc. until paperwork is done ?

Thank you all,

Hello VJ-Community,

I have a quick question, is an APO address considered to be an American address or does my husband have to establish domicile in the US. We are currently both living in Germany, but he is still fully integrated in the American system as he is here through the SOFA agreement based on his job. Do we need to do anything in particular to establish domicile.

We have an American address that we are currently using for immigration purposes, but naturally he can't live in 2 places at once.

Can I renew my German passport with my maiden name?

I know I messed up not checking my passport earlier but my German passport expired in June and I was wanting to travel to Germany to visit my family for Christmas.
I can get a new passport until then easily through the normal application but I was wondering if it would be possible to apply for it with my maiden name since you have to apply for a name change through marriage to get my new name on the passport.

All my American documents (ID, greencard etc) are with my new last name, will this be a problem during the application? I am ok with receiving a new passport with my maiden name.

Did anyone else go through this and can give me some advice?

thank you

How long does it take to get Green Card after approval? In a bit of a problem.

So my husband and I filed to remove conditions last July and found out last week that they were approving his case to remove conditions. Great! Well the approval letter just got here and I was reading it over.

It says we should receive the card within 60 days.

It also says you should not travel outside the United States until you receive your green card as you may have difficulty reentering.

My husband already booked a flight a couple weeks back to do a month long visit back home. He is scheduled to leave this coming Monday.

I am supposed to be joining him at the end of the month. Do you think we will get his green card by the end of the month and I can bring it with me? Why can't we travel until we get the card if we have that letter?
