Hello Visa Journey family & friends, On our IR 1 VISA NVC Has TWICE rejected my wife"s birth certificate and our marriage certificate , I am so confused as to why. I am the petitioner and live in California and my wife is in Colombia, we submitted both our original Colombian Marriage Certificate & her Birth certificate and had them also translated to English, notorized in California. Since this has happened to us twice I'm thinking the docs need to be translated to english notarized apostille done IN Colombia. This is so frustrating and could use some wise advise. thank you all and HAPPY NEW YEAR! .

This may sound stupid, but on the US Embassy Bogota website, in big red letters, it says bring original or certified copies of all documents uploaded in CEAC...Please use the list below to determine the items that every applicant must bring to the immigrant visa interview. Any documents that are not in either English or Spanish must be accompanied by a certified English translation...however if you continue to read...it says...Your original birth certificate, English translation, and a photocopy. It says English translation a few more times but I only pasted one example for clarification. Now the Question...Based on what is written in RED, I don't need to translate any documents because all of my documents are either in English or Spanish...is this true...and am I to assume the "original birth certificate", if it wasn't in English or Spanish, would need to be translated...are my assumptions correct?

Hello, I want to know how to start the visa process. My husband is an American citizen. I am Colombian. Right now, we have been married for two years, and we have a two-month-old baby. If anyone knows, you could help me, thanks.

This USCIS page (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/historic-pt) shows historical processing times for different kinds of immigration applications, among them I-131s. However, it splits the I-131s into 3 categories: "Advance parole document," "Parole in place," and "Travel document." The first two categories have much shorter current timelines (5-6 months each) than the third, which sits at 14.5 months. Which of these categories is relevant for a K1 visa holder who has arrived in the US, married, and filed for a I-485 adjustment of status? Or perhaps are they all relevant, meaning that the whole process may take the sum of all of those timelines?
