| i693 Question - Getting A Fee? |

Apologies for the one part rant and one part actual curiosity in advance. Just very miffed but I do have questions. x_x So I recently scheduled an appointment for the partial i693, having already done a medical exam in Canada. This second one to include with my DS 3025 from the first medical exam, apparently, is $425 in fees. Is this normal? My formerly-fiancee-now-wife is distressed over this sudden revelation of additional cost that isn't at all covered by my US health coverage. I did ask why it was so much, and they said it was *because* the initial medical examination was done out of the country. At which I have to ask what the heck the point of the first one even was? Especially considering the comparable pricing. Yikes!

Hi all, I have a few questions: I received my permanent resident card in 2017 and my US husband and I just recently divorced. I know I can apply for citizenship based on physical presence; however, if I was a stay at home mom during 2020 and 2021, how can I demonstrate that I have not "willfully failed or refused to support dependents"? I gave birth in 2020 to our second child and we did have a joint checking account, but my husband was the primary breadwinner. I did "support" in other ways such as attending parenting classes so does this count? Thanks for any help.

I have a rather complex question. My wife is an American and we were married in 2003 when she was living in the US and I was in Canada. Later in 2003 I received my k3 visa and moved to the US, where I received my permanent residency about 2 years later. We lived in the US until I returned to Canada in 2011. My American wife followed me a month later and applied for permanent residency here, which she received in 2005. She has a daughter and grandchildren in Texas and we are considering returning to the US. I am just wondering how complicated it would be to return? To add to that complication, I renounced my US permanent residency back in 2003 after returning to Canada. We have been married for 22 years. Thanks for your help!

Hi all! I'm getting my stuff together for my I-751 and I'm a bit concerned about bank statements. We never created a joint bank account but it looks like everyone else I've seen did so they could include it in their packets. I don't want to open one now because I'm too close to my time being open to sent the packet and I'm scared it will look fishy. I'm an authorized user on my husband's credit card but that's really the only banking we do together on paper. We have our house deed, car insurance, health insurance that we are both on. I'm nervous now. Hope someone can either ease my mind or give me additional guidance.

Hi everyone, Greetings, I and my wife are from Nigeria and we submitted our civil documents, however the police certificate we submitted has 3 months validity, and it will expire soon. I contacted NVC about this confusion and they sent me a link that says below statement without giving me any direct answer. Note: Present and former residents of the United States do NOT need to submit any U.S. police certificates. Important: Police certificates expire after two years, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. so my question if our police certificates have expired before NVC receives it. will the 2 years or 3 months validity be applied on our document. My wife lives in my home country Please anyone that has experienced this should help. Thank you
