CAN I GET SSN EARLIER ONLY BY SHOWING STAMPED IMMIGRANT VISA AS A PROOF OF PERMANENT RESIDENCY?

Hello everyone!

I arrived in the US one week ago. (IR1)
We are waiting for my permanent resident card and SSN to arrive in the mail (the fee was paid 16 days before my arrival) I heard that it can take up to 90 days to be mailed to me, and I didn t want to wait that long to start working.
Our question is: as the now stamped immigrant visa is valid as a proof of permanent residency for one year after arrival, can I go in person to a SS office and be able to get my SSN earlier by showing them my passport? Or do I need to wait for my physical GC to arrive?
I appreciate your help!
Thank you!

i understand no one here knows for sure on any of this, but based on experience/stories you've seen/heard - how do you feel about the chances of getting a b2 visa if this is the information the interviewer will have:

  • purpose of visit: visiting boyfriend and meeting family and go to disneyland
  • family ties to the US: none
  • job: yes
  • school: yes
  • lease agreement: yes
  • has been to the US before: no
  • has been to other countries via visas and has not overstayed: yes
  • does not need any sponsorship/affidavit for financial reasons, although will be staying at no cost at boyfriend's parent's house
  • wants to visit for only 2 weeks

that pretty much covers it! something else to note: the person applying is a Brazilian citizen, applying at the Dublin, Ireland embassy (currently living there temporarily for school & work)

any advice/thoughts on if you think this has a high/low chance of visa approval/denial?

I-751 Divorce Waiver.

Hello. I am about to initiate my divorce proceedings, and have been trying to gather evidence to submit my I-751 with a divorce waiver. I was wondering if the evidence

- Two joint leases with both our names on it, from both 2020 and 2021. I also had one more from 2019, that i included with the original I-485 application, but I forgot to make copies and now I don't have a way of finding it.
- Two Tax Return Transcripts from the IRS, filled jointly as a married couple, for the years of 2020 and 2021.
- Verizon Phone bills under my name, with both my wife and her mother as both my dependents on the line. We are still on the same plan even though we are going through a divorce.
The bills go from April 08, 2021, when we first signed it, until the most recent one. Over 13 months of phone bills included.
- Pictures of two credit cards we had together, with her as my dependent.
- Pictures from my job's life insurance, listing wife as my Spouse and dependent.
- Copies of Drivers Licenses for both wife and I, with the same address listed.
- A page of the USPS Informed Delivery, with pictures of mail for both of us, being delivered at the same address.
- Pictures of several accounts that we shared, having different profiles on the same account. Such as Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime.
- Pictures of my Emergency Contacts of some of the jobs i had, listing my Wife as my emergency contact.
- Several pictures that spam from the very start of our relationship, to the very last picture we took of us together, during the concert we went to in February of 2022.

We never had a joint bank account. We had a joint credit account under my bank, but it was a credit card we used to build credit, and there were barely any purchases made on her card.
We had cards for my Vision Insurance plan from when i used to work as a contractor for Amazon. She was listed as my dependent, but i wasn't able to locate those.
I also had her listed as my dependent on my Walmart Life Insurance policy back from when i used to work at Walmart. I do not work there anymore and could not get access to those documents.

I have included around 70 pictures of us, that dates from the very start of the relationship, to our wedding day, until the very last pictures we took together. Her family is also with us in several of those pictures.

This is pretty much all i was able to gather, and i don't think i am able to provide any more evidence than this. Was hoping to be able to get some facebook posts from my ex, but she untagged herself from every picture on her family's profile, and deleted her facebook account.

I was wondering if this is enough evidence, and or if there are any tips from any of you who went through this, if there is anything else i can add. The marriage lasted a bit over two years by the way. We actually completed 3 years two months ago, but were already separated then.

Anyways, i appreciate the help. thank you!

Getting Married on a Tourist Visa instead of K1

My fiance (Brazil) and I filed a K-1 on June of 2021. We are waiting for NOA2 as of now but it's all taking too long and we are growing impatient of waiting. My fiance is in the USA with a Tourist Visa. Is there any way we can get legally married now and not commit visa fraud? Perhaps by abandoning the K1 and adjusting her status? I know, I know... it's not safe and guarranteed, but what are our options? If the smart thing to do rn is to just wait for the full K1 process, is there anything we can be doing to hurry along the K-1 process while she is up here in the states? I'd like to know your opinion before I decide to spend money on a lawyer. Thanks.
