California Service Center (CSC) Experiencing System Delays

WASHINGTON – The California Service Center (CSC) is experiencing systems problems that are causing delays in the printing of certain notices. USCIS believes the delays are primarily affecting approval notices for cases decided between April 2007 and the present, although production of some receipt notifications may be affected as well. USCIS is attempting to identify the source of the problem and generate the delayed notices as quickly as possible. In the interim, CSC has established interim procedures to help facilitate the needs of its customers.

• If USCIS has cashed your remittance check and you have yet to receive a receipt notice, please verify your case's status on-line using the receipt number indicated on your cancelled check. If you don't know your receipt number, please contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) toll-free at 800-375-5283 for your receipt number.

• If you believe that you haven't received an approval notice (for example - you check the online system and it indicates that your case was approved and you have not received an approval notice), USCIS encourages you to submit an inquiry to the e-mail box: CSC.NoNotice@DHS.Gov. Please include your receipt number and/or your "A" number with your inquiry. USCIS expects to respond to email inquiries within 30 calendar days.

I was just ready to send them an e-mail regarding my NOA2, went to the USCIS status page to get my receipt # and saw that it was touched on 6/24/07. I'll give them a few more days for it to get here, if not, I'll definitely contact them.

Well, at least it is official and I know where my NOA1 is... Hopefully it is just a delay of the notification and it will not delay the whole review process... /finger crossed/

Now everyone can stop going crazy that they didn't get that elusive piece of paper... Is that suppose to make us feel better or worse? I mean, don't we need the NOA2 to send as proof?

From what I've heard (read in the guides?) it is needed for AOS, right?

I also was told by a CSC operator - this is unconfirmed - that "they" are "supposed" to accept a print out from your online account as being as valid as the snail-mail approval letter, but his tone and delivery implied that not all reviewing officers were taking those print-outs the way they should be. We didn't discuss the topic in depth, so anyone who happens to call about it - try asking and see what information you get!

Yesterday I contacted my congresswoman's office to ask for help. I've just sent and email too, though, so I'll probably re-contact the congresswoman's office and let the staffer who helped me know.

I had no problems receiving my physical NOA1 or NOA2, but, many of us approved in June have also been waiting a longer than usual time for our cases to be sent to the NVC. I called USCIS and they only said "it can take up to 90 days to forward the petition." Why? Who knows. Is my petition sitting at the NVC waiting to be checked in, or is the hold-up at CSC waiting to be sent out? That's all I want to know right now.

Call right after they open or right before they close for best results - during the day lines are always busy.

Yes, I got a hold of them yesterday morning, and they hadn't received it, so I decided to try to call USCIS today.

Based on admission as the K-1 fiancé(e) of a U. S. citizen and subsequent marriage to that citizen.

Attach a copy of the fiancé(e) petition approval notice, a copy of your marriage certificate and your Form 1-94.

That is what i am referring to... along with AOS, in the guides, it says that you should send a copy of your NOA2, along with all the other documents needed, to your fiance as they prepare their packets and for their interview

Call the USCIS and do the RFE trick. Press the prompt for RFE(recieved something in mail). Enter you receipt number. This will direct you to your service center regarding your RFE(even if you did not get one).Then you can play stupid or just plain ask if you have been approved. I was touched and the USCIS site said still pending so I called and asked about a RFE I never got and a very nice lady told me I had no RFE and was approved. This way at least you know something.
