At least one person mentioned being asked where in the US will you be residing (expecting the address on the application). Or simply, will you be residing at <address>?

Hi ,

when i arrived at the airport in Miami . i had to be interviewed. They opened my brown envolope went through my medical. Then asked where my place of residance in the USA was. The address , phone number.. My mother and fathers first names. My occupation . Where i met my fiance. Then they told me i had to be married in 90 days. File for AOS. That interview lasted for 30minutes. I then misses my conecting flight to Houston. I went out on the next flight. Twentynine hours travelling that day in total before i got home. Hope this helps.

My POE was in Orlando, November 2005. If I remember correctly I wasn’t really asked any questions. The officer took my brown envelope and passport and asked that I wait in a waiting area behind the immigration stations. I was told my visa would have to be processed and that it would take time.

After waiting I don’t remember exactly how long now maybe 15 – 30 minutes another officer came into the waiting area and told me that I should marry within 90 days and I shouldn’t leave the country until I had filed additional paperwork. I was given back my passport which had a USCIS stamp on it showing the date I entered the country and the date I had to marry by and my K-1 visa status.. the same was also stamped on my white I-94.

That was essentially it, no problems and no questions asked, just some waiting.

I cleared immigration in Dublin. Their reaction was: "so, you are getting married... awwww, how sweet" The only question I can recall was about the date of our wedding, but this might have been just part of small talk.

I did get grilled by American Airlines agent, though. It seems that flying with a one-way ticket is a good way to attract attention...

I wasn't asked any questions at the POE. I was just asked for my envelope once they saw my CR-1 visa in the passport.

POE Miami,

Went through regular line, took fingerprints, checked paperwork / passport and gave them brown envelope and waited about 10 minutes in a special room where other immigrants were waiting. We were told we had to marry within 90 days. I asked the officer if we could get the stamped work permit and he had no idea what I was talking about so I said later and we left.

From what I remember from Anton comming through the POE in Houston, other spouses and family members were told that non English speaking people coming through should be ok because they had interpreters in many languages.

Only if it was some rare language would one of the family members be able to go back and translate. Like I said that was in Houston (IAH) so I would imagine JFK, being a bigger airport would be similar. so I wouldn't even worry about it.

POE JFK on 2nd Sept 2006...was not asked anything..just taken aside and stamped my I-94 and said goodbye

I came in, gave me Package to the immigration lady.. she took them out, asked me what operation i had had in 2001.

Asked my daughter if i was indeed her mommy (she is 5).

That was it, no seperate interview room either.
