:crying:

Haven't been on VJ for a while, pretty upset recently, was all excited about our October case complete, praying and hoping they'd schedule the interview in Nov for Dec...

Called the 2nd week of Nov... "Sorry, but err, we've reached the limit of immigrant visa interviews at the london embassy for December"

Nice one, thanks nvc, thanks London, now i have to explain to the kids that yet another christmas is gonna be spent alone.

GUTTED!

So.. fingers crossed the 2nd week of Dec i'm at the top of the list for getting scheduled for Jan.. we hope. :crying: If not.. another month to wait? GRRRRRR

I'm gonna be so happy when this bullsh*t is over.

Different embassy for me, but same problem.

I think the embassies needed a month to catch up on the pending Standard cases before the switchover to NVC Appointment processing.

Now, hoping and praying they won't use the same excuse again on December 15th...

They always come up with a new excuse, so I would not be surprised. Chances for December are gone, hoping for a January date.

Ok so the operator tells me that there is no way of telling if the interview will be scheduled for the next month if you missed the opportunity the prior month, they are "apparently" all in line according to approved date.

This sucks bad, so basically there is a great chance it could just drag on for months and months and months. What happened to it being quick after the case is complete?

I'm gonna be so glad when this is all over.... i dunno how many times i've said that too, lol.

I'm so sorry to hear that Nikki. Hopefully they will get their stuff together and get you an interview date quick. I've been hearing in the Colombian forum that the embassy in Bogotá is also taking it's sweet old time to set up interviews for December, and I have a feeling that even the people who sent in their stuff before mid November won't get a December interview either. Something's not right with these people.

The K1's, and I think the DV Lottery too, don't go through NVC because they are 'expedite' cases where the approval will expire, so I think they are allowed to keep cutting the line in front of us! The NVC age-out cases too probably have priority over the rest the NVC petitions.

Looking at how fast the immigrant visa interview calendar at my embassy continues to fill up while I wait for Dec 15th scheduling (see link below), I've got a very bad feeling January is already out for me already and even February seems bleak! They need more interviews each day, or how will they ever catch up?

Well Blah Nikkis and all the rest who now have to wait until the new year.

At least with Montreal we know we don't have a snowball's chance in heck of getting an interview until next year, but when you are dealing with consulates which are normally quite speedy it must be really disappointing, sorry to hear it.

Nikkis and all the IR1's still can do K3's on an expedite basis, but unfortunately for me Congress has yet to make a K5!

Yeah.. i might even revert back to the K-3 if this continues to be puck back and back... but it will be loads of money we can't afford :( this sucks, its so hard to plan anything else out with the rest of my life because its always depending on the outcome and date of the interview... everything is waiting on the visa, and i can't schedule other things because the NVC & Embassy's can't give out exact dates / decent information. Its all guess work.

$100 (and a return trip to embassy with another police certificate and medical exam) whenever they finally get around to scheduling you) is too expensive?

For K3's, at least, the fun thing about NVC appointment processing is the I-130 petition stays at NVC until just before the interview date, so you could apply for the K3 even though the I-130 is NVC case complete waiting in limbo for an interview to be scheduled. If I had the option of something like a K3 (which I don't, because my case is for IR-5), I would choose to use it if an appointment isn't scheduled again on Dec. 15th. Consular immigrant visa processing is broken, as the K1/K3/DV-lottery/age-outs are now continuously cutting the NVC immigrant visa appointment waiting line and being allowed by the embassies to fill the months that the NVC scheduling system was supposed to have a chance at.

My case was completed on 20th Nov. I am also waiting for a interview in London. I am hoping that I get an interview for January...but who knows. I know exactly what you guys mean, I filed 29th December last year so its coming up to 1 year. I am sooo frustrated.

I'm sorry that you got such bad news! It's hard to deal with and try to keep upbeat for your children. Stay positive and trust that there is an end in sight. At least, you can think somewhat positively that they probably had less interviews in December because of the holiday vacations. So maybe January will have more interviews in place and you'll be reached sooner.

Good Luck and Keep Strong!
