I am hearing conflicting stories and reports concerning the DORA program in Texas. Is this pilot program still active and available for Dallas residents filing AOS? Anyone have an accurate URL to visit concerning this?

Yes it is still available, only now it is optional, you can either file AOS to Chicago like the rest of the country, or you can still use the DORA program.

USCIS is now making participation in the pilot program optional due to a continuing increase in demand for available InfoPass appointments.

This is the first time I have ever heard of the DORA program. Was it really quicker to adjust status this way rather than mailing it in? I wonder how the pilot went.....

Makes no difference, our AOS was approved in 4 months without interview, and through the normal filing procedure through Chicago PO Box.

So far it sucks. We had no option and had to file DORA. We filed June 14 and are still up the creek without a green card. We were also told by every officer we spoke with that we should not file for the EAD because it would take longer to issue the EAD than it would to approve AOS. Fat lot o good that did us.

Is the DORA process even open anymore? I heard it was closed or done. :/

Its still optional. I personally would advise against it. But we've had serious problems with the Dallas office. Given the choice I would have gladly filed via the Chicago lockbox. IMO the Dallas field office is full of morons.
