I can see why doctors and nurses need to dehumanize their patients. Helps them stay detached and objective, I suppose.

A coping mechanism? Hmmm...interesting.

You know what, when I wrote that I believed I was having an original thought. Now that I think about it, I believe I may have heard that on Scrubs :P

The Holocaust was a horrible part of our history that we should never forget. It's too bad that there are people out there who treat it as a joke.

I do have a question though and I hope that people who are more knowledgeable would help me out.

Hitler was not just anti-Jew, he was the ultimate racist in that he only wanted a pure Aryan race. I am thinking though that there were races, other than Aryan and Jew, who lived in Germany and other countries occupied by Nazi Germany. Was there not enough of these other races that we don't hear about what happened to them during the holocaust? Is there a memorial somewhere for other non-Aryan races who could also have been rounded up, tortured and killed?

If there are readings out there that could give me insight on this, please show me the way.

Don't know about memorials, but that he persecuted gypsies is well known.

I had a neighbor friend back in grade school (Greg Ayers), whose mother had been in a concentration camp as a small child - they were Dutch. Great neighbors, very generous and kind to me.

It's called THE HOLOCUST MUSEUM......no one group of people was singled out. The majority were Jews; but this museum does not discriminate.

I went through a phase after going to the museum where I read every single book about the Holocust I could get my hands on.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

It is disgusting to hear some of the slanted racial views some people have. Granted, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but does that mean voicing it so nastily will force others to conform? My brother is extremely racist and is totally against mixed marriages, but he keeps his personal views to himself. He's more interested in enjoying a good relationship with his sister and new brother-in-law. He knows expressing his views wont change mine.

Plus anyone who would not go along with his plan was targeted even if they were German themselves. And if you tried helping those who were persecuted you'd end up in the same place they were being sent to. Another Dutch family I know of(not personally but the story) was sent to concentration camps, I'm sure many know of Corrie ten Boom and her family. There were lots more like them I am sure. Something interesting about Corrie ten Boom...

"Ten Boom was released in December 1944.[3] In the movie The Hiding Place, Ten Boom narrates the section on her release from camp, saying that she later learned that her release had been a clerical error. The women prisoners her age in the camp were killed the week following her release." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corrie_ten_Boom

Indeed it does. Judy Reyes is hot.

she needs a spanking

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
