Yay! Congrats on the interview dates! I'm glad some of you are finally out of limbo. Hopefully the rest of you won't have to wait too much longer to hear some good news.

Man, it's just our luck that the waiting times have jumped up SO drastically.

Hey, does anyone know if they schedule interviews over Christmas/December? I'm afraid that this backlog was caused by Summer breaks (I really don't know) and I wonder if the same thing'll happen with Xmas breaks and such... .

OH yeah and could all you guys how got interviews fill in the table? That'd be really helpful as a visual...

Congratulations to everyone that has interviews coming up!!!

For my interview, they have asked me to acquire and bring my Birth Certificate to the interview. But I had submitted the original along with my original marriage cert so Im not sure why they are asking for it. I was born in India and Im thinking that the birth cert I submitted was not up to standards. I tried contacting the hospital I was born in and they are not much help and told me they dont have the records (everything is on paper there...not electronic recordkeeping). So do you think I can go through the process of unobtainable birth cert and the the whole affidavit process?

Birth Certificates

Each applicant will need to obtain an original birth certificate issued by the official custodian of birth records in the country of birth, showing the date and place of birth and the parentage of the alien, based upon the original registration of birth.

The certificate must contain the:

Person’s date of birth

Person’s place of birth

Names of both parents, and

Annotation by the appropriate authority indicating that it is an extract from the official records

Unobtainable birth certificates

The applicant’s birth record may not be obtainable. Some reasons are listed below:

The applicant’s birth was never officially recorded.

The applicant’s birth records have been destroyed.

The appropriate government authority will not issue one.

Please obtain a certified statement from the appropriate government authority stating the reason the applicant’s birth record is not available. With the certified statement the applicant must submit secondary evidence. For example:

A baptismal certificate that contains the date and place of birth, as well as both parents names (providing the baptism took place shortly after birth)

An adoption decree for an adopted child

An affidavit from a close relative, preferably the applicant’s mother, stating the date and place of birth, both parents names, and the mother’s maiden name.

Note: An affidavit must be executed before an official authorized to take oaths or affirmations. More specific information is available from the NVC.

I'm wondering this too. Didn't they take December off last year?

I'm very happy they are scheduling November interview dates. My biggest fear after getting our NOA2 so fast is that we would be scheduled for an interview while we are in the Dominican renewing our vows at the end of November and into December. Thanks NVC for being so far behind!

January would work! He has family in Montreal, so that part is not a problem, but the darn snow they have there! We spent the last two new years holidays there and it was so cold that my shoes literally fell apart on New Years Eve last year. When we left the party, I had no soles on my shoes. Thankfully we were able to catch a cab back to the hotel as there was no way I could have walked back with all the snow on the ground.

The good news though, is that after approved, he has six months to get down here, so he can hopefully pick a weekend with no lake effect snow driving through upstate NY.

Now the NVC just needs to get a move on and let me electronically file my paperwork.

Ha! WHen i first moved to Montreal as a wee pup of 18, I owned NO SOCKS!! I'd come from Vancouver island and well, let's just say SURPRISE!!!

Shoes falling apart made me laugh -- sorry 'bout that.

I would be okay with December to be frank but whatever, what we want isn't gonna fly so, I'll take any ole thing.

January would work! He has family in Montreal, so that part is not a problem, but the darn snow they have there! We spent the last two new years holidays there and it was so cold that my shoes literally fell apart on New Years Eve last year. When we left the party, I had no soles on my shoes. Thankfully we were able to catch a cab back to the hotel as there was no way I could have walked back with all the snow on the ground.

The good news though, is that after approved, he has six months to get down here, so he can hopefully pick a weekend with no lake effect snow driving through upstate NY.

Now the NVC just needs to get a move on and let me electronically file my paperwork.

DTI - Days between completion at NVC and interview

Anyone else who has NVC case completed in July 2009 and still waiting for interview?

Hi! We DCF'd our I-130 in Vancouver (May 11) and send off our Packet 3 to Montreal on June 25th- I think that this date is supposed to be comparable to people who are at the 'Done at NVC.' We are still anxiously waiting to hear back about our interview date!

The thing that concerns me is that the last document we received from Montreal was dated 2 weeks prior to it actually making it to our mailbox. Just wondering if our paperwork is floating around somewhere out there...
