I filed DCF, and am currently waiting for my wife and son's interview letter. They just went back to canada on wednesday and it really, really sucks being apart from my family. My heart just sank reading that the october interviews are all scheduled.

Hang in there, the November interviews will be announced soon enough.

Is there some where online to check? or do we just hear from people on VJ who got their letters?

There is nowhere online to check. I'm not sure about DCF, for non-DCF you call NVC, I would think you could call DOS, they should know where you are up to and if you have an interview yet.

Hi Canamerican,

If you have a look at the table above, there is a column for 'done at NVC'. Yes, Montreal seems to be slowing down a bit lately.

Hey Trailmix-what's DOS? also just to clarify, when you file DCF, the cases never go to the NVC right? they just stay in the country you filed at.....don't they?

The consulates fall under the umbrella of the Department of State (DOS). DCF's don't go to NVC, as far as I understand.

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

Got another question-I want to start familiarizing myself with the Adjustment of Status process for once we are done with the montreal interview and are all here in the states. I looked at the AOS guide for k1 people, but it wasn't too clear, is there a good thread for this somewhere? (we're IR-1/CR-1)

Adjustment of Status is for non-immigrant visas. IR1/CR1 is an immigrant visa.

really. So what's next after my wife and son get their green cards? I've been solely focussed on getting to the interview for their visa's I haven't done any research past it....

Just a question about the medical exam...I dont have an interview date yet (Surprise ...surprise). But can I still get my medical exam done before hand or do I have to wait till I have an interview date? I thought they were supposed to mail me something about the medical once the date is set and I was supposed to take that in to the medical exam. Not sure. Can someone provide some info?

What would I do w/o VJ!!

Nothing beyond removing conditions (CR1) or renewing the green card, or applying for citizenship.

My wife and son have to live here for a certain amount of time before they can apply for citizenship though right?

You cannot schedule your medical until you get your packet 4(interview letter) from montreal. That's where I'm at right now too.
