We didn't really have any screaming fights on the phone, but part of that may have been because she was at her parents house and was always just more restrained around them than before she moved back.

I'm at my parents house too :innocent:

but we aren't screaming either.. just getting angry and saying we have to go and then talking again later when we cooled down or give up

The worst part of fighting over the phone is that the makeup sex has to be over the phone too. And I don't know about the rest of ya'll, but phonesex sucks.

We fought way more just before our interview than ever before. We both agreed that we needed to stop focussing so much on talking about immigration, and find other things to talk about and do.

You will find that once you are together, things usually calm down a bit.

Phone sex sucks?! Hahahaha....good one.

It does. Who can substitute it for the real thing, baby.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for you dear Liz, I wish I had seen your post earlier and you would not have felt alone for a second.
I want to kill my fiancé! Well, okay, not kill (he will be reading this, hahaha), but you all know what I'm talkin' about. :hehe:
He is the level headed one and I am, ahem, out there....and I "make" him lose his temper (as if he doesn't do that to me) to the point where he declares that we will never talk of this paperwork again...and I absolutely need to express myself. Really! Hahaha.
Who do you take stuff out on if it's not the person closest to you that you love?
Man, that sucks to even think about it, and how does one temper their need to express without going overboard? Hmmm?
Only a super human or saint can do that.
Or someone, say, who is not too passionate.
I am learning, I am learning.
I stuck a note on my wall right behind my laptop so I can see it all the time.
It says, "It is not ________ fault".... with (L) (L) all over it.
It has not prevented us from arguing and debating; what it has done is reminds me not to think he is to blame for any of the immigration process.
This is a great first step.
It seems to me that the closer one gets to their goal the higher the hurdles....it is all a test, metaphysically speaking, to see if that is truly where you want to be/go. So pass the test by not losing sight of the goal/end-result, and move forward. Then brace for another test. Life is just like that, especially when you live on the edge.
Which reminds me of one of my favourite expressions:
If you're not living on the edge, you are taking too much space.
I can only hope I helped and did not add to your frustration. :D
I know many people who do not like to live like this, but I like it when I'm going fast and my hair's on fire! Ha!!!
I was stressed out more then my wife. We kept going over the paperwork and the questions. I remember just before her interview I decided to calm down and build up her confidence. The day of her interview I paced the floor all night. By 12 noon still no word from her so I pm'ed Steve to see if his fiancee may have seen my wife , but my wife being only 4'8" she didn't exactly stand out in the crowd. Finally 1 pm thier time I got the call.. She never asked if she was approved. Another ten days and the visa finally came. We have never had an argument or even a disagreement.
THAT'S THIS FRIDAY!
iT still doesn't feel real!
Awe... hang in there hon!! We didn't fight per se (cause my hubby is one of the most laid back people in the UNIVERSE) so even if i did start a fight.. he'd end it pretty quick.. but the 24 hrs leading up to the interview was SOOOOO stressful on us both. I've never seen him so uptight.. he was calling me as I was in line to BOARD the plane telling me my flight was cancelled as per Montreal (when it wasn't).. we were both at the end of our ropes trying to get me to MOntreal in a snowstorm. It was a week I would NOT want to repeat..
Please try to cut yourself some slack.. you are MOVING, you are saying GOODBYE's, you are doing PAPERWORK, you are getting MARRIED!! and you are trying to wrap up things back home.. all those things are VERY VERY stressful and it's totally normal to be stressing, and crying, and freaking out..
It's almost over my friend!!
