We'ver really needed rain in our area. Several cities have already imposed mandatory water restrictions. What we have right now will probably not be enough to slake the "thirst" of the land and lakes but we'll take what we can.

IT'S RAINING......I can't believe it. I was just about to go for a walk with my son and my dog and it started raining. I wouldn't say it's pouring down but the water definetely makes it all the way down. Awesome.

Well I'm in the mountains of NC so maybe this rain that just passed over us will make it's way to you too. Glad you are finally getting some rain. I doubt if it will make Easley lift the ban but every little bit helps.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

we had some crazy storms last night. luckily all the really bad weather...tornadoes and such was a bit east and south of us. one touched down near my family's land about an hour from here. we're gonna go up there tonight after work to make sure it didn't do anything to our houses there.

We're about two hours north of you (Greencastle) and we had some bad storms yesterday. We had a tornado watch for almost the entire state and there were a couple of small touchdowns, although no major damage. The rain was torrential, we had 1 and three quarter inch hail and the wind blew loads of lovely colour changing leaves off the trees! Pfffft.

Still windy today but not raining at the moment....

Send us all the rain you can get! We got about 3/4 of an inch yesterday but that does little to replenish our drastically shrinking water supply. Atlanta area has around 100 days left of drinking water in its resevoir - we have had less than 50% of our annual rain fall this year. Mandatory water regulations have been in effect for some time and there is a 100% ban on any type of outdoor water use at all - no gardens, no lawns, no car washing - nothing. In fact, in Douglas County, offenders of the watering ban are having their water turned off at its source - and if they want it reconnected, it will cost them $1000. We have had droughts this severe in the past (this is called a 100 year drought) however the area was not so built up at the time with so many demands made on the limited water sources. So, send us all your rain - and I hate to say it, but we could use a hurricane or two - that is the main reason we are in such dire straights - hurricanes dump their water in land on us and there have been no landfall hurricanes on the East Coast in 2 years.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
