TEHRAN, Iran -- Russian leader Vladimir Putin met his Iranian counterpart today and implicitly warned the U.S. not to use a former Soviet republic to stage an attack on Iran. He also said nations should not pursue oil pipeline projects that are not backed by regional powers.

At a summit of the five nations that border the inland Caspian Sea, Putin said none of the nations' territory should be used by any outside countries for use of military force against any nation in the region. It was a clear reference to long-standing rumors that the U.S. was planning to use Azerbaijan, a former Soviet republic, as a staging ground for any possible military action against Iran.

"We are saying that no Caspian nation should offer its territory to third powers for use of force or military aggression against any Caspian state," Putin said.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

We're learning about this in International Law class and here is what I understand.

Russia used to be a world power but have fallen. Putin talks a big talk but can't back it up so he is just seeing how much power he can take before being slapped on the wrist.

The US isn't going to use Russia at all the invade Iran. They are going to use Africom which was created recentally specifically for this because of the access to the sea. It has nothing to do with Africa and everything to do with location location location of the sea to the Middle East and the Navy's access. They are taking this long term battle by sea because the land around holds many enemies for us. Although the government argues the location isn't as important as what the base does Political Scientists aren't fooled and know this strategy well. They see who created Africom: http://www.africom.mil/index.asp

Map of location of where Africom is stationed in Djibouti: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:LocationDjibouti.svg

And here is what the CIA factbook claims right out: https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/th...ok/geos/dj.html

"Djibouti hosts the only US military base in sub-Saharan Africa and is a front-line state in the global war on terrorism."

Now how about Turkey and the US.

Recentally and I don't know if anybody has been paying attention at all to the US and Turkey issue: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7038900.stm

On Oct. 11th the US saw fit to pass legislation that recognized the 1915 mass killings of Armenians by Turkey as "genocide".

Who defines Armenia killings as genocide?

The following countries have passed, at varying levels of legislature, motions to declare the 1915-17 mass killings in Armenia as "genocide":

Chile passed a Senate Resolution in 2007.

Argentina passed a law in 2006.

Lithuania passed an Assembly Resolution in 2005.

Slovakia passed a National Assembly Resolution in 2004.

Canada passed a House of Commons Resolution in 2004.

Switzerland passed a National Council Resolution in 2003.

France passed a law in 2001.

Greece passed a Parliament Resolution in 1996 establishing a day of the commemoration of the genocide.

European Parliament passed a Parliament Resolution in 1987.

Cyprus passed a House of Representatives Resolution in 1982.

Why is this important that the US does this now?

Turkey, a NATO member, has been a key U.S. ally in the Middle East and a conduit for sending supplies into Iraq. But Turkey has new government officials that are predominatly Islamic and may present a potential problem.

Turkey has threated to start bombing the Kurds who are the one party in this war that weren't heavily involved yet and that's all the US needs now.

Any other perspectives? I'd say yeah we're already in WWIII.
