HELP! Ran into a problem with the passport pictures.

Here are the passport pictures my fiance sent me. Only problem is they have this rust residue from the metal clips that she used to send them in the mail.

Questions;

1. Can I take them to a graphics shop to have them redone and have that residue removed?

2. Can I send them like this and hope they get accepted?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. We are hoping there is someway we can get these to work. Otherwise it feels like it is just going to push our application even farther back because she has to send new ones.

I feel your best bet is to get knew photos. I imagine if you retouch them it's only going to cause you a lot of problems since the photos will have been 'doctored"

Is there any way she can have her passport pictures emailed or put on a digital format so I can print them off here?

In the instructions they say they can't be retouched, so it's probably not a good idea.

I can't see any reason why she can't email you a copy and you have them printed off. That isn't against the instruction and will save you a lot of time!

Emailing is fine, but the rust is only in the background of one of the pictures. I'd just get it touched up and make copies.

Emailing might be quicker and easier though. If you don't have photo paper at home, just take them into Wally World etc.

I would get new passport pictures done. This may delay your application, but if you send those pictures the way they are, or "retouch" them, you may get an RFE for new pictures anyways.

I personally would rather just make sure the pictures were done properly the first time around.

I think what we will do is have new passport pictures taken. Then I will have her email those passport pictures to me and then I will have them printed out here and make sure the picture meets the passport standards.

Any issues with this solution?

They look quite bad to me. I'd have her send some more to you via e-mail.

I'd get them redone - that rust is really visible in the photos and you can't retouch the photos once they've been taken. If you decide to use them in your application, you will probably get an RFE.

Passport Photos

To be on the safe side, have her take another picture and express/fedex it to you. These people are just looking for something to issue you RFE which could delay your petition. she could even email you new pictures which you could print. Take the time and do it right.
